Butler's coach, Brad Stevens, would have been elevated to Godhood...

Anti-BE articles would have popped up everywhere. You know all those Charlies Barkley types were just waiting to take the BE down a notch the first chance they get.

We might have finished 9th, our total BE win at end of the season was 2nd in the BE only to Pitt. We beat everyone other than ND. Also, our OOC wins are top among all BE teams if not the best in the entire country. The tournament produced the right champion 9th place in the BE or not.

The media would have crucified the BE had UCONN not win the championship.

Do you know how much fun it has been for Louisville fans to tell UK fans "Hey you lost to The Big East's 9th best team......twice" 03-lmfao

That fact in itself is enough for most Louisville fans to forget the "Fair Catch."

BTW I'm not sure if it was ever posted here but Rick Pitino pretty much told the UK media that Calipari's defensive scheme would not slow down Walker and UConn. Rick was right. 04-cheers

I guess we won't be hearing from Mark who is the best basketball program anymore 03-lmfao UCONN ended that debate for good this past year.

Now he will go trash UCONN's FB program. How we gonna finish last in the BE 03-lmfao Something don't change. I do know we gonna kick CUSE's butt this year in FB though.

UConn didn't end any debate, Husky. There's still a debate as to whether or not they were the best team. All they proved is that they got hot at the right time of year, rolled through The BEast tourney, and then on through the NCAA tourney. More power to 'em. But that's all it proved...

However, if UConn's football team is going to get trashed, it will be Pasqualoni that does it, not any Syracuse fans...

We beat everyone in the BE at least once by end of the season other than ND. When you like it or not, NCAA tournament does determine the national champion. As for the best team, isn't the hottest team by end of the season the best team? I am pretty sure that's how they determine champions in NFL, NHL and MLB too. Otherwise, we gonna end up with endless homer bias debates like we do in college football every year where there is no real champ. As for the program, we are the best in the BE and there is no debate on that.

Remember TexanMark was predicting last year UCONN basketball was going downhill too. We just got lucky and won the national championship 03-lmfao When you throw enough crap against the wall, something will eventually stick 03-lmfao

Don't worry about our football program. I am sure guys like TexanMark think we are going downhill. I would be surprised if he predicted otherwise. One of our 2 wins he predicted will be against CUSE though this coming year 03-lmfao

Hate to say it but we hae to give UCONN their props.

Since BE expansion they have been the final four twice and are the first to win a title. They can argue they hve the best mens and woman's BB coaches. This was not a super talented team but they got the job done.

Butler knocked off BE champs SYR and Pitt and thank goodness they didn't get UCONN (or Duke for that matter.)

The best BB conference in the land needs BB titles to prove it. One is not enough. We need another next year and the year after that. If Calhoun is the only coach who can deliver-- it is what it is. We had 11 teams in the tournament- most were massive failures. UCONN delivered. I don't like it any more than they next guy but it is what it is.

I think we got five serious contenders for the title next year. Three will probably go out early, losing to mid majors.

11 teams had their shot last year- only one made the final four and only one took the title. Horray for UCONN. SHame on the rest of the BE BB.

We've been to as many national finals as you guys. 05-stirthepot
Not my fault Derrick Coleman can't shoot free throws vs IU and our PG got hurt against UK. BTW, that UK 96 team was so much better than hack n grab Butler.

Thanks for the props. At least one SU fan is giving props to UCONN.

I got to say I was very disappointed with BE's performance last year. UL and Pitt really took it on the chin. I still can't believe Pitt lost to Butler. Butler was a good team, but I thought Pitt defense would have handled them. UCONN basically defended Butler to the point they can't shoot straight.

BE needs to get at least 3 teams in the final 8 and 2 to the final 4 this year. UCONN will be loaded again and I know Calhoun will have his team ready by March even though we only got 10 scholarship players. I hope rest of the BE can do some damage at the next NCAA tournament.

I thought WVU lived up to what was expected. I would have liked to have seen Huggs pull out another win over Calipari. But these things happen, especially when you're short handed...
