Another reason to add 3 southern schools in UCF , Houston, and ECU. Play half the conference schedule on the road early then the southern schools can go on the road for the other half.

Here is what the TCU baseball coach, Jim Schlossnagle has to say about college baseball and how to improve it. I agree with him 100%.

I love the idea, but I think the southern schools enjoy the monolply they enjoy now. MLB wouldn't like it either because they want to get the kids drafted and into rookie ball as soon as possible

UConn draws first blood in game 2, up 2-0 in the third.

Go Huskies!

It was 3-2 until the last inning...then we collapse.

We hit all game but couldn't get any clutch hits and continuously grounded into double plays. It was a frustraing experience watching that game.

Good season for the Huskies. South Carolina defense came up with double play after double play when UCONN could have blew this game open early. Pender (Tom Pender's brother) is a great coach so UCONN will be back.

Congrats UConn on a great season!

Hating the CWS right now. It's like watching the SEC tournament. Sucks!

Thanks for the congrats. UCONN had a great season. SEC and southern teams got all the advantages for baseball. They can practice most of the year while northern teams can't. Unless NCAA change the dates for baseball, this won't change.

UCONN has made huge improvements in baseball, but we still need to improve more to take the next step.

New York Times article on rise of UCONN baseball:

With Penders (Tom Pender's brother) in charge, UCONN could be the dominate baseball program in the Northeast for years to come.

He has been there 19 years. He is also an UCONN alum. His family's connection to UCONN runs deep. I think he is a lifer like Calhoun.

Definitely. We are the "it" program in New England and are recruiting circles around our competition (except BC) despite the lack of quality facilties on hand.

Calhoun is still a New England guy. Would you rather have Tom Penders who is an alum and a basketball coach? I much rather have Calhoun who is one of the top 5 great coaches of all time.
