Stupid question, but has the PFL ever placed someone in the NFL?

Not really a stupid question. Phil Simms (Morehead St) may be the most famous. I believe that a QB from San Diego got drafted a few years ago. I am sure that some of the older programs like Dayton and Drake have produced some NFL players.

Drake alumnus Billy Cundiff kicks for the Ravens. Also, a scan of NFL rosters shows that former University of San Diego players Eric Bakhtiari (Chiefs), Josh Johnson (Bucs) and John Matthews (Jaguars) are still in the league.

Phil Simms played college ball long before the PFL was conceived.

RE: Pioneer Football League Question
Consider if the A-Sun (then TAAC) had started football a few years ago.... When I was a student at Mercer, this was the lineup. As of 2013, they will all be playing football:

Campbell (FCS Pioneer)
Florida Atlantic (FBS Sun Belt)
Georgia State (FCS CAA)
Jacksonville (FCS Pioneer)
Jacksonville State (FCS Ohio Valley)
Mercer (FCS Pioneer)
Samford (FCS SoCon)
Stetson (FCS Pioneer)
Troy (FBS Sun Belt)
UCF (FBS Conference USA)

RE: Pioneer Football League Question
Enormous differences between those schools, in terms of enrollment and financial resources...

Considering that PFL commissioner Patty Viverito (whose main job is Assoc. Commissioner of the Missouri Valley Conference) is nearing traditional retirement age, the ASun may yet run a football league. Who knows whether the MVC wants to mess with the Pioneer league once she's gone.

Or, consider a scenario in which the two PFL divisions planned for 2013 become separate leagues. They might do this so that each could seek an automatic playoff bid.

Another reason for the PFL to split into separate leagues would be if more Southern schools (e.g. High Point) decide to start football. That might upset the scheduling balance that the PFL will have with 12 members. Two leagues (PFL + ASun) might cooperate with a revival of the Gridiron Classic, in lieu of a PFL championship game.

Possibilities...
