RE: SEC, Television, and ESPN
Oh yeah you want to eliminate the unfair advantage the SEC has? Get rid of the pre season polls because those are all about putting only the BIG SCHOOLS in a position to be noticed. I get sick of SEC fans saying we might not have a tough non conference schedule but look who we play in our conference. I know for a fact the Big East has a tougher non conference schedule in football over many other BCS conferences and we have to play our conference schedule to.....The whole BCS & pre season poll thing is a joke and should be changed.

I don't watch NFL games, except during the playoffs (when there's no college games left). I find that many NFL games tend to be predictable and boring. College football is much more unpredictable, which adds to the excitement...
Bit,
I actually enjoy college football more than the NFL. I just think the SEC is allowed to cheat (see Auburn last year) by the NCAA and that gives them an un-fair advantage recruiting. When you pass out cash like it's growing on trees and give every recruit a new car, it's not hard to compete. College football fans should demand something be done about what goes on in that conference. Until that time The NCAA will let The SEC do as they please with a wink and a nod. The NCAA will instead focus on The Boise State's. Why concentrate on 1 team in Idaho when you have a whole conference of SMU's in the southeast? Until they choose to do something the SEC will continue to get a free ride into The National Championship game.

CJ, every major football power has cheated throughout its history. How do you think they became football powers in the first place?

Why do you think many of the NCAA regulations exist? To prevent other programs from doing what the major football programs did to build up their programs, teams that had all the advantages of doing what those rules prevented for decades prior to the rule being enacted...

The only reason all this stuff is coming to light now is because of the information age. It's becoming harder and harder to keep such things out of the public eye...
