RE: Your best Huskie sport memory?
thanks randyf and all others for posting such descriptive and great memories.
Choosing only one or a few over a lifetime of Huskie moments is not possible for me.
Watching Bork scramble around Glidden Field and finding open receivers was highly exciting and entertaining with most always excellent results. It was like watching some new breed of offense being born yet so commonplace today. While not giving birth to NIU football -he sure put himself and Huskies on the small college football map with national coverage. He was a key stepping stone to where NIU football is today. I am so grateful for having experienced it first hand.
Those years are surely my sentimental favorite memories. Feels good to know , say and post : NIU was voted NATIONAL CHAMPIONS !
BTW: CMU was often a pain in our Huskie butts even then.

That was a bit before my time but I agree that would have been something to see.
The basketball team had a few good moments in the 1980s and early 1990s. The win over DePaul at the Field House was a big one but not quite the Indiana win.
I loved listening to Bill Baker announce the away games. Does he still do the play by play for NIU football and basketball?
