Memphis gets a lot of crap on this board because of one person in particular, other than that, the ones who post on this board are good... Now, the empty.org board that's a whole different situation, many of them didn't fall to far from the TOGC tree.

I have the greatest respect in the world for Memphis and it's fans. I have been to countless Memphis/USM games over the years. Regardless of if they win or lose, Memphis fans have never been anything but class to me. Memphis is the school in CUSA that I feel a genuine brotherly bond with.

Back in the late 70's after a Memphis/USM football game in Memphis, I was at the bar at Silky's on Beale Street when a large contingent of Ole Miss fans entered the bar. Upon seeing myself and other USM fans, they started a "Hardy High Sucks" cheer. Well, some Memphis fans there joined in with us to just beat the crap out of the loud mouth Ole Miss fans. I have felt a bond with them since that day. They had my back that night and I have had their back since then.

Basketball would die without Memphis...this board, however, would flourish.

Memphis is a founding member of the conference. Some of the riff raff we let in after the Big East raid are just plain embarrassng.

I'd like to see an argument against Memphis being an important and contributing part of CUSA.

Let's see:

Geography: check
Market: check
Money: check
Basketball: check
Baseball: Better than some
Football: Better than some
Prestigious alumni: check

A UTEP equivalent of TOGC would be if we had someone with a sig that had a guy wearing the UTEP gear, sitting next to another guy wearing BYU gear....

I (usually) like Memphis. Their fans can get a bit annoying, but I understand why they can get that way, being a "national program being stuck in C-USA" as the media would say. I like having them though (Also, I hate UT, so any time UM beats them, I always give UT fans heck for it).

I could do without all the d-bags from ECU and UTEP.

Ahh What would a TOGC free board be like?
