I wish they would convert the one level to a huskie club for season ticket holders. Could go in at half time, grab a beer, warm up, watch on TV etc.

This is actually a good idea. Sort of like what is done for the BB games.

Ya I remember those...good stuff... but repaint the stadium first!

Do both. and honestly, it couldn't cost that much to lay a stencil down and paint some paw prints.

It actually does happen. I took a quote from the article below. While this is from 2009 it does happen. Additionally states make the laws regarding liquor sales not the NCAA or Universities. The university may choose not to sell for multiple reasons but it is not due to any ncaa ruling. Here is a link to an article from 2009 in the WSJ.

Quote:Overall, about three dozen of the roughly 120 largest NCAA Division 1 schools allow beer sales inside their stadiums, though many limit sales to luxury suites, lounges or club-seating areas. In other cases, beer is available stadium-wide because a facility is owned by the city, the state or a local sports authority, and that body, not the school, establishes the alcohol policy. Most colleges, already struggling with underage drinking on campus, frown on beer sales in their stadiums.

OH, I get it alright. It's only about the lack of money holding back our dreams.....why didn't I think of that?

Sorry, I just could not resist being a punk azz.

FIU is serving beer in the boxes and premium seating sections.

I really don't know why they don't serve beer on the West side.

Have bracelets that you sell for $2 and there you have everyone's ID is checked.
Then sell 1 per person at the concessions and cut it off at the end of the 3rd quarter.

I bet that would bring in a few extra season ticket holders and revenue.

I've always thought a nice large fountain in that area would be really nice for students to have the option of studying/lounging around before or after class.

RE: Spring Cleaning Around Campus
Beer/alcohol topic is old. Plain and simple, a school can do itbut too many obstacles such as security, liability, advertising, (can't be done on campus, so school gets zero there) appoval, what it projects. Most schools that do limit it to the skybox types(which they can control, charge those already paying a fortune, a fortune to drink) and schools playing in stadiums they don't own. (namely off campus)

Just understand the cost of all things mentioned vs. profit and benefit. Not there, until NIU gets boxes.

Want/need to drink, buy a nice pewter Huskie flask and put it in your socks/pants. Better yet, buy a Huskie cup, put it in a glass and walk right in with it. Done that at a few stadiums. They don't crak down nearly like they used to.

And don't they still let people who go out @ halftime back in?

UT serves beer and wine in the boxes, loges and presidents suite. Same goes for basketball in the boxes, loges and grogran room. All are very nice and are just like a professional stadium service All are sold out every year.

What ever happened to the $500k donation for the Press Box? Is it just collecting interest?

i would assume that it would be part of a comprehensive renovation which would include sky boxes, press box and a club area. But that costs more then $500,000. All it takes is money

Thought this project would happen a little sooner since some seed money but hopefully, they do it right. Have some nice luxury boxes(I cant afford), press box etc.

Bud Nagle gifted NIU $500k for a new press box. He passed away over a year ago or more.

I believe that universities typically sell any stock gifts as soon as possible, so that they are not impacted by market fluctuations. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is what happened with the Barsema donation?
