Rams Compete Against Best in the Nation at Penn State National Invitational
Porter set the school record in the 400m and finished second only behind Olympian Shana Cox. Porter set a school and personal-best time of 53.43. The 53.43 was nearly a second faster than the previous mark.
In the women's 60m dash senior Dionna Hayes finished in sixth place with a time of 7.50. The time was just two tenths of a second off of her school record, and was the fastest time for her since a hamstring injury sidelined her last year.
Junior Jaleesa Williams placed sixth in the weight throw for the Rams. Williams threw a personal-best of 17.47m.
In the prelims of the 60m hurdles, Stroman broke her own school record with a time of 8.65.
Junior Chantal Luedeke and freshman Verna Hilaire-Lee each set personal records on day one of the event. Luedeke ran a 8.85 in the 60m hurdles, while Hilaire-Lee set her PR with a 7.79 in the 60m.
On day two, Hilaire-Lee finished ninth in the 200m and set a new personal record with a time of 25.04.
Junior Erin Geraghty set a PR in the 1000m with a time of 3:03.07.
In the men's weight throw, sophomores Ryan Coles and Brandon Ruffin each set new personal records. Coles threw a 14.87m, while Ruffin's toss was 16.18m.
Senior Dominic Costanzo finished ninth in the 400m with a time of 49.77.
In the 800m, senior Alex Hinton placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 1:54.91.
Senior Kyle Sipple won the men's 600m race with a time of 1:21.69.
Ruffin placed fifth in the shot put on day two of competition. The Chesapeake, Va. native best throw was a 8.25m.

WHAT'S AHEAD:
The Rams will split up again next weekend and head to both the New Balance Invitational (Feb. 1-2) and UNC Invitational (Feb. 2).
