EDIT: Out of respect for the Mods I will let this stop here. I disagree fully, and I think most would too, but that's all I'm going to say on that topic.

So...now let's discuss Buffalo's role in this investigation. I heard an assistant on Buffalo's staff filmed team practices to mail to UCF's football staff for review for the big game last year. What a shame...

If everyone in Kentucky is a hillbilly that must mean everyone in Florida is a wetback, spic or beaner. See how ignorant your stereotyping is?
CJ

Florida has the 5th highest hispanic population as a percentage of their overall population (22% per the census) but the majority of them are cubans/Puerto Ricans and not Mexican, so the pejorative terms "wetback" or "beaner" don't apply. Don't worry though, "spic" is still racially relevant and offensive enough on it's own though, so good work!

And your post pretty much proved his point, as you responded the way any ignorant backwoods hillbilly would! Keep it up CJ!

You and CJ need to chill out w/ this racial talk for real.

I agree, but Hillbilly isn't a racially pejorative term, unlike the ones he spewed about Floridians of South/Central american decent. I don't take kindly to it, seeing as how my niece and nephew both have the last name Rodriguez and their father moved to this country in Middle School from El Salvador. When some ignorant keyboard masher decides to prove to the world how ignorant and idiotic he is, I feel the need to point it out in spades. Can you blame me?

Quote:Thanks for correcting me. After calling everyone that lives in Kentucky a hillbilly, I'm sure you're an accomplished racist and know how to do it correctly.

Since you missed it the first time, Hillbilly isn't a racist term, it's a derogatory term aimed primarily at those whom live in the Appalachian or Ozark Mountain ranges.

Did you not call him a Hillbilly first, whether it was a racist term or not. You still tried to downgrade him. But you get all hot under the collar when he responded back. That is what makes me dislike UCF because you have a double standard.

Of course it went in a really bad direction. I really wanted to close these threads or more them elsewhere. But I decided to merge them and keep it going. Whats the point is closing threads and whatnot when some moron will create a new thread on this topic and things will flare up again. Therefore I'm allowing the nonsense to continue on one thread. Its better to do that and let it derail other topics. If/when someone derails another topic, they'll get hit hard.

Seriously dude, you were grossly in the wrong on this one. You called him a derogatory term, ignorantly as that (I've lived in Louisville my whole life and have yet to see a single dang hillbilly in the Ville...). You tried to apply a derogatory term for a person of one region on the state upon EVERYONE in the state by calling Jim a hillbilly. Jim's response was to point out the ignorance in doing so, by using the example that you could do the very same by calling everyone in Florida the terms he through out...but that it wouldn't be correct to do so because obviously, not everyone in Florida would fall under the race being described by those terms. Most people in Kentucky are most certainly NOT "hillbillies" just as the bulk of Florida aren't any of the terms Jim highlighted.

So you see, he was in fact trying to correct your ignorance by highlighting A) why it was ignorant for you to call him a hillbilly and B) precisely why it was hurtful. Your getting offended only went to validate his point further.

EDIT: Didn't see your post animus before I wrote the last one.

Let's just say if you don't understand how a racial slur is somehow more offensive than the term 'hillbilly', well, you've got a lot to learn.

Less than 20 years ago your program was playing basketball in The Atlantic Sun. What would it accomplish adding UCF basketball to The Big East.
CJ

I respectfully disagree with your statement that UCF does not deserve a BCS shot. Despite the possible UCF NCAA problems, UCF and ECU have done things the right way. They have stadiums in place and fans that support them on a yearly basis. The other candidates have not.

It doesn't matter if UCF is 2 years old or 100 years old. Honestly, I respect what ECU and UCF have been able to accomplish without BCS money.

IMHO, the BE should invite ECU and UCF and then pick from Nova, SMU, Memphis and UH. See which one can get their stuff in order the fastest and then invite that team.

If you don't see how they're equally offensive, then it's YOU that has a lot to learn. Seriously dude, the more you keep at it the more offensive you're being.

You guys are just proving the stereotype correct here...

EDIT: Seriously? You think Hillbilly is on par with a racial slur? I mean, I just don't even know how to address that level of ignorance.

This has run its course. For years, UCF fans have been in the middle of nearly every argument on the old BE Split/Expansion thread. It doesn't feel too good that a dark light has been shed on your school. I probably let this go further than I should have.

No more UCF investigation threads here. Put them on the CUSA board or the BE Smack board because it'll end up there eventually anyways. Thx.
