Hopefully he will join the community and not just come in here to flame away against Preston. Preston could be a terrible hire, but it is pretty early in the game to tell that.

It certainly was interesting reading the Gator board about Preston though. Wonder where the riff started between him and the fans. Very unusual for an assistant to have negative or positive feelings either way from a fan base.

It is also unusal for an asst to be fired following a National Championship. Something was going on...

I think we are at least 3-5 years from being in the mix of the A-Sun. The best thing that could happen for us is all the problems (players transferring, academics, APR, cancers on team) happen at one time. That would be the best way for the program to start healing. Accept the post season sanctions from the NCAA and move on.

The problem for Lewis is how do we recruit?
1-We are just out a of reclass period.
2-We have been awful.
3-He has no ties to anyone in the state
4-He is a 1st time head coach
5-Now we are looking at post season sanctions already

I think 3 years is a wish, but 5 years would be a good honest timetabel to get us in the mix year in year out in the league.

I don't think we are looking at post season sanctions for APR.

Yes, unfortunatley we are.

We can not have anyone transfer, be kicked off by Lewis or be academicly inelg or we have a post season ban due to APR.

Tony had the same problem. We are already down scholarships due to awful APR and you cant fix the problem by cutting the bad apples out.

Lewis has to keep all of these holdovers or we are sunk. We wont be able to recruit for a long time if this happens.

Sad but true

RE: Lewis Preston = BAD HIRE!
That is my point. At our current state of affairs we are not looking at a post season ban. If we kick 5 players off and further damage our APR, then we will face more sanctions. We bring back what we have (which is a talented team), graduate our players, bring in more good students, get our academic support staff to do WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO, and we will be fine.
