EMU offers JUCO TE for 2011
Nate Ingram. Will decide by July.
A big boy, about 6'4" and 245 from a SoCal JUCO (surprised?). Good receiver. Originally from N.J.
Kid apparently was getting serious Pac-10 looks. Already has SBC and I-AA offers.
As those who follow recruiting closely may remember, English indicated that on signing day he had one scholarship to give.
I'm GUESSING, but I think this is a case of a kid needing to complete his degree before being ready to move on even he thought last summer that he could graduate in December.
(as we know, no degree is a bad thing for a JUCO who wasn't an academic qualifier out of h.s. ...)

RE and Co have clearly changed their approach regarding JUCOs. After getting burned by no-shows and non-qualifiers the past few years they only seem to go after kids that have graduated and will qualify.

Agree. Seems they want to see a degree and courses before expending a scholarship on someone who might not pass the NCAA clearinghouse.
The kid should graduate, presumably in June, and be cleared to EMU satisfactions shortly thereafter.
The only problem is other programs, perhaps bigger then EMU, may go fishing as well.

EMU offers DT Tysheem Smith from L.A. Pierce JUCO. December, 2011 grad with 3 years to play 2.
I believe it is the same JUCO as the above named TE candidate.
Both kids are from N.J.

As our friend indicated on the Facebook site, EMU is in the hunt for a h.s. DT from Florida who recently qualified.
English is apparently working hard to give his last known available scholarship.

RE: Ingram.
He visited but didn't think EMU was a good fit.
Here is his YouTube. Has some Pettigrew in him. A big horse like Pettigrew and can be a big time blocker.

We still have a scholie to give for the '11 class.

The other kid I mention, the JUCO from Kansas, has three years of eligibility, I believe, left.
That kid is apparently visiting EMU, Arkansas, and maybe one other school.

His name is Stephen Houston and he's 5'11 230 lbs and gained over 1,000 yds last season, 6'5 ypc. Per Steve, he will have 3 years of eligibilty left if qualified. Kid is originally from Ohio.
