RE: I take it the grizz lost.
You could tell from the start it was going to be a long night. Marc settled for jumpers, bricked everything, then started missing point blank layups. At least we kept it close the whole time. Sam Young, Arthur, and Tony Allen were huge. OJ still cant play 24 seconds of D. Game 3 is HUGE.

What the OP meant to say is he doesn't like the grizz or the nba, so he is basically rubbing it in that they lost.

And the calls were not that bad considering we were playing san antonio (ex-champ) with a couple star players on the road in game 2 after we won game 1. The reason we lost is because the spurs are good and we just couldn't hit enough shots in the end.

yes

transparent as hell isn't it?

par for the course with a few of them -- they can't stand that many of us Tiger fans can like the Grizz as well, or that Grizz fever has captivated the city...

He just took a page out of "Hating on Football, Memphis Style," that's all.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Not worried at all. That chapter started a long time ago, really.

But since you brought it up, there does appear to be be some connection with the older football fans and their disdain for the local pro basketball team. It must be grey revenge or something like that.

You are 100% correct---rigged-fake-fixed-whatever you want to call it. It has not been on the up and up since Bird and Magic retired. They even rig the draft (lottery Balls)-Ewing-Rose-etc. The Memphis NBA fans should atleast admit that--how many times should the griz have had the best shot for the number one pick, but they end up with the worst possible pick-------THEY DO THE DRAWING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS--even the ref Tim Donaghy admitted it was fixed.

... And the Holocaust didn't exist.
... And Bush took down the WTC

GRIZZLIES SUPPORTERS APPLY ‘THIRD COAT’ OF PAINT THE TOWN

Memphis, Tennessee – Support for the Grizzlies continues to pour in from the Memphis community as area businesses and organizations demonstrate their belief in their home team during the Grizzlies’ 2011 NBA Playoffs presented by First Tennessee and Toyota.

Anybody traveling to or from Memphis will take a bit of Grizz Fever with them, as the Memphis International Airport gears up for the playoff run with the display of Grizzlies Playoff Rally Cards, ‘Believe Memphis’ window clings, Tony Allen cardboard cutouts, hundreds of balloons and Grizzlies video messaging on their TVs and Jumbotrons.

“The Memphis Grizzlies are OUR TEAM. The Grizzlies embody the spirit of this city. As Memphis International Airport welcomes thousands of people from around the world on a daily basis, we want to make certain that every visitor, tourist and Memphian knows how proud we are of our home team,” said Arnold E. Perl, Chairman, Memphis Shelby County Airport Authority, and Partner with Glankler Brown, PLLC. “The hundreds of balloons and cutouts of Tony Allen throughout our main concourse will provide a pep rally atmosphere. The messaging on our newly installed Jumbotrons at the entrance and exit of the airport will show our undivided support and that ‘WE BELIEVE’ in our team.”

In addition to the Memphis International Airport welcoming travelers, the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau will display Playoff Rally Cards at all four locations in the city. Lastly, the Urban Art Commission is helping to apply the third coat to Paint the Town in a more literal sense with a Grizzlies ‘Believe Memphis’ mural at the corner of Union Ave. and November 6th St. in Downtown Memphis.
