RE: Kraft lobbied for UMASS to BE
I wouldn't mind UMass being invited down the road; they have a history with probably a big chunk of the current BE schools, certainly one with WVU when we were in the A-10

I guess UCF should move their home games to the Jacksonville Jaguar's stadium so that we can keep pace. 03-lmfao

Dang...UMASS would play in a better stadium than Syracuse, UCONN, WVU, Rutgers, Cinci (on-campus), and UL...so I guess those programs should "fear" UMASS now too.

The lengths some folks go to...even trying to push off-campus stadiums that are almost 2 hours away for a current Div I-AA program and soon to be MAC program.

2 years?

Try 2 minutes...as in other threads...numerous Big East Fans (especially those from schools that VOTED FOR NOVA) already jumped on the UMASS to Big East Bandwagon...as they seem to want any Div I-AA program to move up to BCS level...vs current I-A programs WITH FACILITIES and good/strong attendance/support that would probably become much more of a serious threat to them once they have had equal footing (i.e. BCS $$$$ advantages).

Yes, it would kind of be bad for USF (and good because it might light a fire in the OCS department if we find out that is the difference maker for recruits and program building).

But we wouldn't need to cut UCF any deals give them any breaks so they could build the program up. I think that is a difference maker when looking at schools in your backyard. It's one thing to increase the competition, it's another thing to build that competition against you.

I think UCF would pay the full membership fee up front, as well. If they wouldn't shift funds to it that could be raised in short order, I'm sure.

Same for ECU as well....it would be another school that wouldn't need any help (i.e. wouldn't need $50 Million - $150 Million "help", either through a gift from other Big East Schools or from new fundraising) in new facilities to play on Day 1 in the Big East).

If ECU landed a full Big East invite...believe they would try to "upgrade" their Basketball Arena (42 year old Minges Coliseum) as soon as possible (believe they are building a basketball practice facility now...which is a MUST HAVE for any major basketball program today)....however, unlike certain Div I-AA schools that do not have either the $$$$ or the on-campus football stadiums to handle BCS Football...ECU (and UCF) would be ready to go on Day 1.

Good point I don't know what I was thinking. We are already behind UMASS, UNCC, ODU, and whatever other eastern FCS team wants to show inclination to move up.

RE: Kraft lobbied for UMASS to BE
maybe the BE should wait to see if UMass is successful on the FBS level; we could possibly have the next TCU or Boise
