Many message boards are saying UCF to the Big East and FAU to CUSA. Where did this rumor start?

No clue. I have seen nothing about that on any FAU site and a quick look at the UCF board turned up nothing either. Sounds like speculation. Tomorrow it'll be Memphis to the BE and MTSU to CUSA...

yeah, nothing on our board has been mentioned of it.

I have seen this mentioned before with us (or FIU) since everyone figures that CUSA would like to have the Florida trip for recruiting and market share. But thats all been on message boards so I take it with a pillar of salt.

To be honest, while CUSA has a better rep right now, and better basketball to be sure, I dont know if I would really want to leave the 'Belt. If UCF left that would be the one team I really looked forward to playing since its a instate game but they would be gone. We have started to build rivalrys and I know all the opponents in the 'Belt.

I'll follow the Owls no matter where they play. I imagine that if CUSA came a calling the FAU administration would probably pull the trigger. Just my gut on that.

I don't think Howard, he would shoot for one of the BCS conferences, not CUSA.

HAHA...you don't know Howard if you think he'd start a rumor about moving to CUSA (or him using a message board to do it!). If he's going to talk about moving another conference, he's going to talk much bigger. Believe me, if this was from Coach, the rumor would be FAU going to the Big East.

Very True,

Howard always talks and dreams big. If he was behind a rumor they are right, it would be about us to the Big East/ACC/SEC or something like that.

While coach does have a twitter account, I'm like 99.9999% sure its not him doing it. I dont think Coach is all that up on social networking.

Wierd that this came up now - there was a lot of hype and false speculation about a UCF to BE announcement 2 weeks ago after the Villanova bust - but nothing now.

That said - I'd consider staying in the SunBelt. C-USA is a better league at this point, big picture, I don't know if it is sustainable because of how spread out the footprint is. I could see some of the C-USA west moving to the MWC if the right cards fall into place.
