I like this class
One of the better hauls since I have followed the team. Of course, it is a large class. I think we covered our needs, if someone pans out to cover the 3 and back-up the 2.

RE: I like this class
According to BTH's interview with Taggart Lockhart, Coach Shields is looking for him to back up Tramar at the three, and maybe even play a little Two guard. Taggart said that Steve told him he might get 15-20 minutes as a freshman, which made him happy. I think we'll like this young man.

most exciting class in my mind since Sidney signed Jake Yancey, Darius Eason, Mark Greene, Alex Finger and Richard Hardman. I'm big on freshman and I think this will be our biggest freshman class since then. I think the future is bright adding these to Chucky and Gus.

Right. I am very happy to see the emphasis in recruiting getting back to freshmen. More bang for your buck.

Me too. I've always preached for freshmen.

Freshmen are a little riskier because jucos have much more of a track record, but the risk is worth it.

Close out with Javes and Baker and I will really like it.

With regard to freshman vs. Jucos, I just want to get the best players we can. I always felt we could get a higher level of player if we went Juco. Maybe the addition of dorms, oncampus arena, etc. is making us more attractive to freshman. Certainly, all things being equal, I'd rather have freshman as well.

That says it well. When you are having to go after too many jucos, it is a pretty good sign that all things aren't "equal." But a skillful use of jucos to plug holes is a key strategy at our level.

JJ
Alex
Fowler

Pretty good success there, even in recent years.
