No BCS for you....

So, way back when Memphis were good, you could draw over 41K, and that's a good thing...

And now that ECU sucks, all we can pull in is over 49K, and that's a bad thing?

Something to ponder: expect the unexpected. Remember all the buzz before the B10 expansion (Cuse, Rut, Pitt)? Miss was packing their bags. And what happened? Nebraska and done. No one saw that coming. So assuming the BE pulls something unexpected, and none of the 'expected' candidates are added... what would that surprise be??

If the BE pulls something completely unexpected, I'd say it means they've convinced BYU to join for FB only. 03-melodramatic The next most likely unexpected option would be if Nova doesn't move up and the BE adds UCF and Houston as expected, but then goes out and gets Temple or Memphis instead of ECU. 03-melodramatic Either of those would be off the radar unexpected. 01-wingedeagle

FWIW, I don't expect anything unexpected. 03-idea Villanova 10th and eventually UCF and Houston for 11 and 12. (eventually meaning in the BE effective for the next TV contract.) 03-2thumbsup

That's because Nebraska is a "blue blood" in college football, they would be stupid not to. I think adding notre dame football would be the biggest shocker even though they are already BE team

I think the biggest Shock would be:

1. Adding Notre Dame football getting to 10/17
2. Adding Boston College getting to 11/18
3. Seton Hall drops out of Big East.
4. BYU 12/18

04-cheers

By adding teams who are not in the natural geographic location of the BE is a BIG mistake. CUSA is dealing with that problem now. Not only is it exspensive to travel but Most Important the travel "takes it out" of the players & coaches & makes them less competitive through the course of a season.

This will further weaken the BE when competing vs other conferences with less travel fatigue . Its one of the biggest complaints of coaches in CUSA

Right, because the ACC adding Miami and BC, the PAC10 adding 2 Mountain TZ schools, and the BE taking USF, sure have/will hurt the leagues 01-wingedeagle

No way Houston makes it. They weren't even on the expansion map until a couple of weeks ago. They've done nothing to drastically improve their position.

Much like Memphis. UH has as good a chance as anybody since its hardly clear exactly what the BE wants.

ECU only had football, and now you're losing in that too.

ECU went 1-1 vs "Mighty Memp Basketball"

And as fare as Memp FB, Lost to ECU again. What bowl game did Memp go to?
5 straight bowl seasons for ECU & this past year was a major re-build year.

Baseball, sorry ECU got you there too !

Memp can't even beat themselves in a sport . just give up dude !

The Big East doesn't give two $hits about those. Even so, our women's BB team swept you 2-0, split with you on baseball, beat you in women's soccer, and women's volleyball.

But they don't want a school with no television market like you.
