And if we win next year it will be 2 in a row
Congrats to UCONN in bringing home the first NC in the "new BE" era. Hopefully, UCONN has established a standard that other BE teams will follow.

The BE will be considered the best BB conference from here on out. You will hear that every year. In a down year we may drop to two but to drop to three would be considered a total failure. Too many quality teams in the conference (even St. Johns is bringing in a top 10 class). We will become the first choice for good BB players.

What we missed as the "best conference" was a national title and NOW what we are missing now is a string of national titles. Lets make this a habit. IF it's UCONN again-- fine with me. Thanks UCONN for getting this started. Lets do it every year.

Heck I may even have to root for ND on the women's side.

P.S.Keep the BE NCAA bids to nine teams so we can get two or three in the NIT and take that too.

Let's take over the college BB world.

COngrats again to Calhoun, Lamb, Kemba and the Huskies- a truly outstanding Coach and truly outstanding program.

Have to think Syracuse and Louisville will go into next season as the prohibitive Big East favorites.

But if all of these players that the experts think will come back, do indeed come back, it's possible neither the Orange nor the Cards will even be pre-season Top 5.

Cheers,
Neil

I think you've hit the crux of the matter on BEast hating. Everyone associated with other conferences, the media (most of them nothing more than fans of schools not in The BEast), and the rest of the college basketball world want to diminish our strength and success to prevent us from reeling in all the best players, leaving the rest of the nation in our dust...

I'm putting UConn in that mix as well. The rest of those guys are reason enough to believe there will be life after Kemba.

The league is going to be absolutely brutal next year...You are going to have the defending champs & probale co-favorites Louisville & Syracuse....but also don't sleep on Cincinnati.

Thanks for the good comments. We are just happy we are able to bring it home this year. Yes we need to win more championships starting with next year.

I hope ND women can bring it home tonight. They finally got over the hump by beating UCONN for the 1st time in the last 12 tries. BE also has the best women's basketball conference as well.

I think Cincy should definitely be in that mix next year especially if Gates stay. They play very physical and got good big men inside. They will be another tough out. Pitt will be tough for BE but their NCAA record leaves a lot to be desired. I am still scratching my head how Pitt lost to Butler. UCONN kids were much more athletic than Butler kids and that's the main reason we won.

UCONN will be in the mix as long as Calhoun is around. He just said he is coming back on ESPN just now. There is less than 5% chance Kemba could come back but I won't be holding my breath. We will get Boatright who should provide some back court scoring. I always look at PG and Center/PF as most important position in college basketball. UCONN has Shabazz and Oriahki back so we should be fine. If we land Drummond we would be very good.

League next year will be brutal again. We will see how league play will prepare us for the NCAA tournament run. Should be another killer year in the BE.
