Philly or Orlando?
PS. Also gave interesting comments on the challenges in regards to Pitt Football attendance too.
Philadelphia is actually a great town. It's well planned, easy to get around using mass transit or driving, has plenty of sights to see, and some really good places to eat. I don't mind cold weather. If you bundle up properly, it's not that big an issue. Cold air is cleaner than warm air too, and holds more oxygen, because the molecules are closer together in cold weather...
Of course, if it's just above freezing temperature and you get rain, sleet or hail, the cold could be a problem. But football is an outdoor contact sport. Have all the fans become women?
Orlando isn't a bad place to visit either, and for Yankees a brief visit to a warmer climate would be welcome. But to say it's a slam dunk over Philly is ludicrous...
As for Pitt's attendance, it could get a real boost if the NFL labor dispute continues. If the lockout persists through the season, Steeler fans wanting a football fix could jump on the Pitt bandwagon. The new coaching staff seems to have energized the team. Could it energize the entire city as well? It's not outside the realm of possibility if the NFL season is abbreviated or cancelled. Pittsburgh is a football town...

Pitt will learn to really like Todd Graham..he runs a very exciting offense..if he puts together the right defensive coaching staff..Pitt should win a lot of games and be a blast to watch...attendance will go up.

So let me get this straight...
A terrible beat writer for a mediocre newspaper promotes the school she covers for National Recognition in the ongoing Conference Expansion news. She basically says the same thing in article after article for years about how that school is "next" (even though TCU was) and now, because the beat writers for other Big East programs dont like the direction the BE is heading (in regards to Nova), they contact her and promote her agenda.
Anyone else question the fact that Limon is getting way to much credit and exposure here? There is no insider information and no other side of the story...is this what we are getting from our media these days, a bunch of agenda driven drivel and noise that has no merit and the promotion of anyone with credentials to "star" reporter status??

I've only been to Philly once so I can't really judge.....but it depends what you as a West Virginia fan want in an away game trip, if you want a true college gameday UCF would be a much better trip or you could want a more urban environment to explore and the game is just thrown in than you have Nova
I would take this over tailgating at a MLS venue

Yes... most UCF fans question it as well.

Lets hope not. I think Nova will be the Washington State of BCS conference football. I think they are way to far behind on fan support and facilities. I'd definitely want a CUSA team over them.

Just say: "they'll be the Big East's Duke"
You're the Carrot Top of making analogies.
FTR, I think Nova could have UConn-like success if they have enough support. I just don't see that support from fans/university.

What was there a sale on "blue tents" or something? Is that the opposing teams colors? You would like to think there would be more UCF fans there.....not much black and gold in that picture.
FYI, kidding aside....that really isn't a good picture to get people impressed with your tailgating. It is impossible to get any perspective at how many people you are looking at.....looks less than a 1000. If someone showed me that picture and said what team is this tailgating for? I'd probably say Middle Tennessee State because of all the blue and the limited amount of people.
It actually looks more like a university "flea market".

Is this more like it? This is memory mall and it's mostly student tailgating.

That's not bad. It's still minimal compared to tailgate's like ECU's. I have to agree that the color of the tents sparks alot of questions. Here's one of our tailgates. Just like your pic, you can't see the overall mass but you can see the tent colors and all the Pirate flags. To me, tailgating is more than just getting together to drink beer. It's a culture where you show your team pride and spirit. That's expressed a number of ways but tents, flags, etc. go along ways towards creating a tailgating environment.
Pirate Tailgate - Thanks Bluewater Pirate

Looks like a pretty solid tailgate to me. Probably doesn't show any of the RVs/SUVs/Vans in the parking lot probably located behind the camera.

There are actually no vehicles in that immediate area. That is only one section called Memory Mall. Most RVs are by the actual stadium. To one side of the Mall, you have Greek Park and Lake Claire where there are tailgates setup, to the other side, you have surface parking lots that also have tailgaters. That picture doesn't even show the full Mall either. There is another grass lot to the right.
There is also tailgating, well, basically across the whole campus. Hard to explain. Within the Student Union, by engineering buildings, by the opposite end of campus, etc.

Why is it called "Memory Mall"? Is it because after the tailgating festivities it is very difficult to remember how to get to the stadium?
Seriously, though, that is a nice tailgating setup.

I think the point is there should be ALOT more than this. I'm sure that's hard to catch in one shot for any school though as most with great tailgates will have multiple groupings like the one above. ECU has close to 7 of these mass groupings although they wouldn't be mostly students like the UCF picture. The rest not joining in mass is spread through various streets, strip malls, yards, etc. I went to the ECU/UCF game last November and the picture above was really it for mass tailgating. There was a spot on the scoreboard side for RV parking but it wasn't at all the same feel. They utilize parking decks, etc. It's better than alot of places though, that's for sure. UNC is one of the worst tailgating places I've ever been to.
