Do you actually think it is just four, I betting it is more like 24. Auburn is a dirty program, all you need to do is look at their Board of Directors.

Why are we even surprised with this stuff? Its pretty much the norm down there in the SEC country.

I don't know. It's definitely possible given how determined Bobby Lowder is to win at all costs. (FYI, Lowder is the chairman of the AU BOT). Tubberville probably figured, when in Rome, do as the Romans. IMO, it's really kinda sad because there's a lot of Auburn fans I know out there who are really great people, but their admin, especially Lowder, are a bunch of cruel, ruthless tyrants as Terry Bowden quickly found out. But at the same time, the Bowdens were shown to be paper tigers, also, IMO, once the ACC brought in some quality football programs.

I beg to differ. At some locales, such as Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas, for certain, this has been known to go on for quite some time, but around other locales, the picture is changing. Even though I thoroughly detest the Gators, I will admit that they do run a clean program. South Carolina runs a clean program as well now, since Spurrier has taken over. Kentucky seems to be clean in football (basketball definitely a different story), but I'm not for certain on that. Mississippi State appears clean as well, and Vandy is well-known for its reputation. Even my team has been trying to stay clean, although we've definitely stumbled a few times. (Basketball is a very long, messy story.). Alabama is a hard one to figure out as is LSU, IMO. They seem clean, but then you also hear rumors about them still paying to get recruits.

Please explain how Arkansas is dirty.

Arkansas recently completed a 3 year probationary period for NCAA violations in football in 2006. It's not like the shoe doesn't fit, Hawg...

The track team had a couple of national championships vacated too, if memory serves correct...

The news reports and a blog have an ex Auburn player named Stanley McClover also mentioning $500 handshakes at LSU and girls being provided for sex by Ohio State.

1st. We self reported the violations. It was due to the fact that a few players got paid for hours that they did not work during the summer in Dallas. I beleive this was before Houston Nutt was the coach at Arkansas . As for the Track program. You tell me how anyone could prevent this.

No one can make a blanket statement that Arkansas just cheats to win games. That is 2 violations in two decades.

Up until a couple of years ago, for about 25 consecutive years at least one SEC program was on probation for
something. Par for the course down there.

Nobody made a blanket statement saying that Arkansas cheats to win games. The blanket statement made says, "if you're an SEC member and you ain't cheating, you ain't trying". That's an age old axiom in the SEC that goes back as far as I can remember, and that's pretty far...

As a current SEC member, Arkansas falls under that blanket statement, even though the Hoggs were in the SWC when that particular phrase first became in vogue. And since y'all just got off NCAA probation in football 3 years ago, with the attendant scholarship reductions (self-reported or not), and vacated a couple of track titles, the blanket statement on the SEC applies. Arkansas may not have cheated to win. But they cheated, and they are winning. Now those 2 things may be totally unrelated, and then again, they may not...

That's the gist of the matter, dude, like it or not...

BTW, back to the subject at hand, HBO is supposed to have a special on the stuff that went on at Auburn tonight...

They had a one hour special last night (plus a round table) and believe it will be repeated on multiple HBO channels in the coming days.

Here's part of the round table with Jason Whitlock, who wants to "blow up college sports" and start over.
