Basketball Practice
I read a Michigan paper and saw that Tom Izzo at Michigan State is running two hours of skill work per week with underclassmen until the end of the semester. It's allowed under NCAA rules. Are we doing that?

With what coaches? Patton is gone. Assistants might still be around but are they going to put time into our guys instead of out there looking for a job? Our kids are losing opportunity to work out in an organized manner.

We have an interim head coach. If it's legal for them to practice, I would hope they would be practicing! Like I think Spann said, coaches come and go, but . . . I don't remember what he said, but the point was, they were going to keep working to get better regardless of who the coach was. I would hope our basketball players and interim head coach would feel the same way!
BTW- Did Patton have his team practice, like Izzo, for two hours per week through the Spring semester?

RE: Basketball Practice
I would assume that the team had spring practices in the past. Every D-I does. But, our interim head coach, even if a good guy, would be wasting his personal time developing the new staff's players. It is a nice thought, but would you be busting your tail in that position?

He is probably just there a little bit each day for paperwork and to be a contact person. The other assistants may be in even less. They are probably sending out resumes and making phone calls trying to get hired somewhere.
