Anyone seen Foley as a candidate for LSU job ?
I've seen Insell and Foley listed (on various internet sites) as top candidates 04-jawdrop

While internet message boards may toss the two names out there, I find it unlikely that LSU would seriously consider either one. Both coaches are in their mid-50s and would not generate the type of buzz that a school with as much recent success as LSU has would desire.

Look for someone in their mid-to-late 30s. Someone like Matt Bollant with UW-GB, if they make a run in the tournament, would be a much hotter prospect than Foley would with the equal run.

Mid fifties is still pretty young for a coach with these guys resume's. I hope there's no truth to the rumors, but LSU could do a lot worse than either one of these guys.

Wisconsin canned their coach yesterday. And today's article in the Madison newspaper about possible coaching replacements, Joe Foley was one of the four coaches mentioned with a prominent write up.

I poo-pooed Foley to LSU because of the Tigers' recent success. But Wisconsin is clearly a step (or two) below LSU and is exactly the kind of program that would consider coming after Foley.

Your off-season is about to get quite interesting.

I believe Joe is about 53 or 54. No not all that old, but likely pretty set in his ways. I think he is an Arkansan at heart. Can't see him moving to Wisconsin at this point in his life. Baton Rouge- I couldn't totally rule that out, but I doubt it. The job in Fayetteville opens up and then I would start to worry. He is a down to earth guy, humble guy, who is certainly not a self-promoter. He seemed like he was quite happy at Arkansas Tech for many years. He seems quite happy at UALR. I wouldn't put a ton of money on it, but I tend to believe he is here for the long haul.
