Breaking news: Our logo changed a little while ago
Yeah- that old logo still hangs around on some sites.
Gonna be tough for UB to win twice in the same season at WMU. Not loving their chances this weekend.
Yeah, but you would think that a conference member would at least have it correct on their website...
But I agree it'll be tough for us to win in their building again. Let's just hope our key players show up.

So you're saying you'd be *more* confident if UB had *lost* the first time?

Ugly game. Broncos led by as much as 8 but UB came back. FT shooting alone was awful.
Congrats Bulls. Carry the MAC banner, along with Ohio. That's assuming they don't square you two off against each other. That would suck.

WMU and Buffalo showing why they couldn't get the job done in Cleveland with the lack of focus at the line. Mental toughness is the difference between the teams playing in the NCAA tournament and the ones in the CIT. Those teams don't finish around the bucket. MAC teams can't make layups and freethrows. WMU/Buffalo looked like something between two lower level SWAC teams. Either team would have lost to Prairie View today with that effort. 1200 attendance shows how important MAC fans care about their teams in the post season. That's likely players and coaches close friends and relatives.

Well, to be fair, the winner of the prestigious CIT gets a wooden trophy with plexiglass and everything.
The way the Broncos played today made me think that they had already checked out mentally.
Anyways - the Broncos have a HUGE hockey game tonight and a lot of attention, energy and fans is in Detroit right now. Broncos had a very good turnout at Joe Louis Arena last night.

Thanks MileHigh.. Still hate that we had to play another MAC team so early.. my guess is that if Buffalo and Ohio both win in the quarterfinals that they are definitely going to play in the semifinals.. will be tough for Buffalo to win three straight road games though.

Agreed. It seems that Hockey has surpassed basketball in terms of fan interest. At least when it's a Conference championship vs a cit abcdefg? tournament game.

I don't mind hockey being more popular but then again I am more of a hockey fan.

As MileHigh said, our first CCHA final four in 17 years - against scUM, no less - really attracted the attention/vibe from campus, and perhaps away from the CIT game. I have no idea if that indirectly had an impact on the basketball team's psyche or not.
But despite the coach-speak and quotables we read about how excited players are, the CIT and CBA are largely filled with a collection of semi-disappointed teams, simply glad to be having extra fun playing a game and keeping active for next season... but certainly not playing anywhere close to the "mental state" they'd have in the NCAA or even the NIT.
The CIT and CBA are nowhere near the minor bowl games of football season, a comparison I sometimes see made. Even the smallest bowl game is on national television, gets solid coverage, and appears on every office pool.
