StatSmack! Why Belmont is better than the Wisconsin..
Hey guys, as you know I am the editor for BruiserBall.com and I just wanted to share our new StatSmack feature with you guys. It gives you stats on why Belmont is better than any other school in terms of college basketball and other things. Here some examples for Wisconsin:

-Belmont is a better scoring team (80.4 per game vs 68.2 per game) than Wisconsin this season

-Belmont players are more experienced than Wisconsin players (15,392 minutes played vs 13,355 minutes played)

-Last year the top ranking player between the two conferences for points, rebounds, field goals made, free throws made, steals, and blocks is in the Atlantic Sun

-More violent crime happens per capita in Madison so be careful if you visit (when compared to Nashville (according to the FBI)

Belmont StatSmack

Feedback would be greatly appreciated. So give it a look and use it later when your buddy that went to a rival school tries to argue that their team is better.

What the hell does the violent crime thing have to do with anything? Madison is awesome. Great college town. The game is in Arizona anyway.

I can't wait to talk some smack to a Badgers fan and tell them that according to the FBI, Nashville is a more ideal place than Madison in terms of safety!. They won't know what him 'em.

The statistic about violent crime has nothing to do with the game itself. It's just one of the arguments as to why Belmont may be a better school, as well as a better basketball team. Those four examples are only a small portion of the whole comparison. I've always heard good things about Madison as well.

I love my former school.. but Belmont is not a better school than Wisconsin. If you are trying to represent your site well you should probably pick 4 good stats. The stats lined up against each other do not give an accurate depiction of either team - or the matchup as a whole. You can't just grab random numbers and make the claim that A is better than B because of your biased choices.

These "stats" as a basis for an argument are completely ridiculous.

Per game stats are terrible indicators due to tempo variance. The Big Ten as a whole is a slower paced conference than the A Sun, but from a points-per-possession perspective, they have better offenses.

Nashville must not have any violent crime at all, because I never feel uncomfortable walking around downtown Madison in the wee hours of the morning. Of course, there are more dangerous areas in Madison than the campus/downtown area.

I also noticed you posted the exact same thing for ETSU, on why ETSU is better than Belmont. Take your crappy website somewhere else.

RE: StatSmack! Why Belmont is better than the Wisconsin..
Alright. Obviously, his post was not taken as it should have been. StatSmack was an app developed by StatSheet.com and released today. Below are a couple links to the media publications that covered the launch. If you have any interest, feel free to check it out.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/StatSheet-...l?x=0&.v=1

http://singularityhub.com/2011/03/16/ai-...h-madness/

StatSmack is just a way of having some good natured fun trash talk with your friends. It's not meant to be the basis of a discussion for an upcoming game. He chose Wisconsin because that happens to be who Belmont is playing in the NCAA tournament. StatSmack can be used to compare any two teams in Division 1 ... This is possible, because we have 345 individual sites, one for each team in Division 1 college basketball ... and we will be expanding shortly outside of college basketball. Our sites (statsheet.com and the teamsites) have an extremely large database of statistics, historical content, etc. We used this to create the fun StatSmack application.

We love coming to message boards, because of the great feedback. With so many sites, we obviously can't avoid mistakes. By reaching out to the die-hard fans we are able to pinpoint our errors and develop a site and applications the fans can enjoy and respect. We aren't here to spam, and prefer to develop relationships with message boards ... as it is developing a relationship with the fans.

We apologize if we did not portray this correctly in the original post. There is no need to ban me, I respect your decision to ban us from posting and will not continue to post, unless you choose to remove the ban. Obviously, not every message board is interested in developing a relationship with StatSheet. We simply are trying to provide equal coverage across all teams, which, and you may agree, not every Sports Media company does.

If you'd like to discuss StatSmack ... or anything StatSheet.com or BruiserBall.com related ... you can reach me at editor@bruiserball.com ... or, my personal e-mail ... Mitch@StatSheet.com

Good luck in the tournament.

So the same guy who was "BruiserBall" is also "BucsBeat" and simultaneously roots for both ETSU and Belmont... strange?
