Stetson officially announces football..will join PFL
The Hatters will join Mercer in fielding a new football team in 2013.
Would make sense for the PFL to split into divisions that year...
SOUTH: Stetson, Jacksonville, Mercer, Davidson, Campbell, San Diego
NORTH: Morehead State, Marist, Dayton, Butler, Valpo, Drake
Glad to continue competition with Mercer and Stetson after moving from the A-Sun.

or trade Marist for San Diego and make it East and West divisions. Wonder which makes more sense financially.

The East/West set-up might be better. That way, flights to/from USD would only be halfway across the country instead of coast-to-coast.
If just one more Southern private school decides to add non-scholarship football, they could join SU, JU, MU, DC and CU to make a nice compact group. Perhaps High Point's progressive administration will make a move in a few years, although N.C. recruiting is already crowded.

I don't understand why San Diego is even in the conference. We need to have several other southern schools add football and have our own conference. The travel to Indiana, California, New York etc is ridiculous. I went to Morehead last year and that is quite a haul and it is twice as far to the other schools.

Its interesting to note that if Stetson and Mercer do join the conference in 2013, the Campbell could face three first year programs in 2013 (Already scheduled UNC-Charlotte being the third).

I hope it's not too outlandish to expect Campbell to be in the top half of the PFL by 2013 and we can handle the Hatters and Bears handily in their initial season. It will be very interesting to compare those two programs in '13.
That opening game at UNCC will give CU the most publicity in the Charlotte news/media market since the '92 NCAA Tournament...(pub that's basically been non-existent during our other-sports tenure in the A-Sun.) There will a lot of eyes on us that Saturday. Hope we look good!

I always try to be positive about CU sports . . . and I will here. But your last sentence and "hope" . . .
My experiences with CU sports are that when the brightest lights ARE in fact on, we do our worst!
But no time like now to change that!
