Big East gets 11, Pitt treated kindly
Not only does Pitt get the #1 seed over Notre dame, they get arguably the softest regional draw (Duke's is soft, too).

Unreal. First time we got all of our teams that deserved to make it in since the Great 2005 Realignment. Congrats to Georgetown, St. John's, Marquette, Villanova, Notre Dame, UConn, Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, Louisville and Cincinnati! Represent us well.

The Big East was a nightmare for the committee--they have the option of moving teams a line up or a line down to eliminate match-ups. So many BE teams being in probably caused a lot of line movements in the middle.

I don't.

IMO, you guys are in the middle of the toughest meat-grinder in the tournament. To make the final 4, you will, on paper, have to beat SEC champ Kentucky, Big 10 champ Ohio State, then either Syracuse/North Carolina.

That's the toughest path anyone has.

The reason is Kentucky: They are a 4 seed compared to Florida being a 2 seed, despite the fact that UK beat Florida both times this year and are clearly better. Yeah, i know you pulled the upset of the tourney beating Kentucky last year, but good grief ...

To be honest I really like where Louisville ended up in the SouthWest bracket, BUT I did not like the fact they have to go all the way to Denver to play. I think they could have put Louisville's section of the SW bracket in Tampa switching out the bracket of the SouthEast with UCLA and UCSanta Barbara. Just doesn't make sense what so ever for travel at all. Apparently the NCAA doesn't know that the country is yet again in a downward spiral to poverty, but who cares right.

Huggins owns Calipari...I can guarantee you they are NOT happy in Lexington with the prospect of facing WVU in the 2nd round.

The Mountaineers will most likely be facing Clemson first. I don't expect UAB to pull out the win. I could be surprised, but I don't think so...

WVU's worst problem would be to come out flat, and dig themselves a big hole with a team that's already put a game under their belt...

They got us vs. the 2nd round vs. a real hot UConn team. As a fan, I'm not thrilled about playing a team on a roll, but the good thing is the UC players will be out to prove themselves against the Huskies.

Oh by the way, we open with an underseeded Mizzou team 03-banghead I think we can beat them, but what a way to start out!

Georgetown is in the same position, and i have the same fear. How on earth did two of the #6 seeds get matched with a play-in game winner anyway?

Louisville to Tampa and Denver are both 2 hour plane rides for $350-400 and granted driving distance its a couple hours shorter to Tampa but both are still 2 day drives. I agree though more with swapping out the UCLA 4 some in Tampa with our group more so for their 4.

Looks like Georgetown gets a rather easy opening game - against the winner of two borderline at large teams. We smack them twice, and get Mizzou 01-wingedeagle Of all the #6 seeds (we went 4-1 against the other three) we have by far the toughest matchup.

You double clutched on the post. I wasn't sure which one to comment upon. So I went with old standby of first come, first served...

It happened when they decided to expand the field to 68. But I forget the exact reason why the #5 seeds play a play-in winner...

Yeah, i know it's a product of the expansion to 68.

Ok, i think i get it: If the play-ins had been expanded such that all 4 play-in winners would meet all 4 number 1 seeds, then that would mean the 4 new slots would all go to the really awful teams. The tournament would have expanded by allowing 4 awful teams to get in. But by matching them up with the #5 and #6 seeds, that means the 4 new play-in slots go to "power-conference" schools or "mid-majors" instead of the very dregs like the MEAC, SWAC, etc., and so we got VCU, UAB, USC, and Clemson - two BCS schools and two mid-majors.

Like you with WVU, i wish that Georgetown had played a 'regular' #10 seed, not a play-in winner, because i think winning the play-in game will give the team we face their tournament seal-legs and confidence going into our game ...

I tell y'all what... The possiblility of ODU or Butler scares the sh*t out of me. If we get past that round, I expect Pitt to go pretty far. I think that Notre Dame will come out of its bracket and possibly end up in the Finals. UConn-Cincy matchup should be interesting-if it happens.

I went bold in my ESPN bracket: 6/8 in the Elite Eight, Big East teams. Finals: rematch of the Big East Championship game - Louisville v. Connecticut.

Good luck!

I dont know about ODU, but this aint the same Butler from last year. I think Pitt will cruise to the final f this year.
