But the NY Times has the third largest natonal circulation of any newspaper behind the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. I can buy any of these papers in Los Angels, Atlanta, Chicago so It wouldn't surprise if they covered UCLA, or Ga. Tech. The NY Times is way beyond a local paper. No one considers the NY times a local paper.

My position is that the NY local papers will certainly cover the BE and good BB or FB. But on a daily basis they are going to cover ST. Johns as their focus or find a NYC connection to write about in NYC. Just because a NY paper writes and article about SYR, Vt or Ga. Tech does not mean that those schools "own" NYC.

The WSJ article narrowed it down to St. Johns or SYR-- nobody else. I say Stl Johns wins the city, SYR wins the rest of the state. UCONN is not in the discussion.
