Tournament Attendance
Did anyone notice the attendance at the Furman - C of C game Sunday evening in Chattanooga. The place was next to empty. Will it be any better for the championship match between Wofford and C of C on Monday evening? Of course the A-Sun championship game in Macon was as bad. And, the OVC title game in Nashville was equally dismal. These leagues must be losing significant money on these tournaments, unless they're selling many tickets to no-shows.

Yes, I watched those games last night, and it was about as sparse as the A-Sun.

RE: Tournament Attendance
Chattanooga really isn't a great location for the tournament in my opinion. I think when the Socon moves back to Asheville attendance will be better, of course they won't have ETSU and Marshall fans to fill it up like they used to.

As for the A-Sun it will unfortunately always be bad unless the home team is playing in the championship. There just isn't enough support from the other schools and that bothers me because Belmont is the best team in Nashville (yes I know they lost to Vandy but I bet they could beat Vandy on a neutral court).

Asheville was Utopia for ETSU and the Southern Conference. Why either one them changed...is a mystery to me.

RE: Tournament Attendance
With 50 games on TV every night, I don't think you'll ever see attendance at mid-major games like you saw in the early 90's. With the Internet and cable all over the place, you just have too many distractions now to attract anything more than the die-hard fan.

RE: Tournament Attendance
And the admission prices do not reflect this new reality. Until they do, I hope attendance isnt as good.
