RE: 2011 Football Schedule
I just saw that our first game is on a Thurs night, at home against New Hampshire? Hope it gets put on ESPN...I don't understand the logic because attendance may not be that great on a weeknight

The logic has to be that the team gets a few extra days to prepare for Ohio State. Instead of taking Sunday off and having 4 days to prep before travel, they take Friday off and have 6 days to prep before travel.

Terry makes a good point too.

Especially the fact that it is a FBS team playing a FCS team, don't think those games usually get televised.

RE: 2011 Football Schedule
Didn't want to start a new thread or clutter up the game thread with non-game related stuff. Some early scores from games featuring UT opponents also playing on Thursday night:

First quarter - Wake Forest 3 Syracuse 0

2nd quarter - Central Michigan 14 South Carolina State 0

Edit: Either I need my glasses checked or they just corrected the score on cbssportsline.com. Either way, it's 14-6 Chippewas.

Halftime - Temple 21 Villanova 0

3-0 Wake Forest after the first quarter.

According to the stats from Gametracker, an ugly first quarter for the Orange. No first downs and -6 yards of offense. Committed four penalties that cost them 45 yards.

Starting the second quarter, Demon Deacons have the ball 3rd and eight on the SU 25.

Syracuse plays one good quarter but that turns out to be enough. SU wins in overtime.

Chips, Falcons and Owls also win.

CMU 21 S.C. State 6

RE: 2011 Football Schedule
Ball State leads Indiana by seven in the fourth quarter.

Edit: Either GameTracker isn't working or the weather is so bad out in the midwest that it's delayed a game in a stadium with a roof (the IU-BSU game is is Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis). GameTracker has been stuck at the 14:57 mark of the fourth quarter for the last 10-15 minutes.

And of course the Bulls aren't on the UT schedule this season, but I thought I'd mention this anyway. Buffalo lost to Pittsburgh 35-16.

RE: 2011 Football Schedule
Ball State went up 10 with a little over two minutes left; after the Cards kicked off, Hoosiers had a drive that got them to the BSU five. A penalty moved them back to the ten and they settled for a 27-yard field goal. Up 7 with 59 seconds left, Ball State ran out the clock and won 27-20.

GOOD.

If Indiana cannot compete for a national championship they should not be in the BCS.

They should be in the MAC. 05-mafia

And we should be in the Big.....somethin'.....
