UC fans, can you confirm....
rumor going around on the wvu scout board that the WVU@UC game will be moved to Paul Brown Staduim. The rumor was started by a UC supporter. Gotta say from the WVU point of view, I'll agree to that move in a second 02-13-banana

You'll know soon enough one way or the other when they release the schedules tomorrow.

I sure hope not, Nippert gives us a better home field advantage. Although PBS was rocking for the Oklahoma game last year.

As always, follow the $$$. We made more money for that Oklahoma game that we ever have for a game in Nippert.

Another reason why we need to find a way to expand Nippert to 45,000 to 50,000 capacity.

I too really prefer games at Nippert. That said... one game a year at PBS works for me. It's fun to go down there as well.

It definitely helps UC's attendance average, which looks better for The BEast...

RE: UC fans, can you confirm....
The WVU Alumni Association in Charleston should arrange a sternwheeler for a trip down the river to the game. That would be pretty unique, and fairly easily done. You could turn the trip into a 3 day party basically...

The Alumni Association in Parkersburg or Huntington could do likewise. We could start up a Mountaineer Navy to rival the Vol Navy...

RE: UC fans, can you confirm....
can't say i'm a big fan of this if true. I like the upside of playing in PBS, but I don't like the idea of playing a well-traveled, respected, in-conference team there. Oklahoma was the perfect opponent for that venue in that they had a good enough traveling base to fill up the seats, but they were geographically far enough away to where they didn't overrun the place and UC very much had a home field advantage. I like playing OOC opponents there - I'd love to play a Texas, or a Miami, or a VA Tech type of program where you'd see the same factors in play (enough visiting fans to make it worth our financial while, without inhibiting our home field advantage).

On the flip side, playing Louisville there would suck. How far is UofL from downtown Cincy? 2 hours? And they've got a great travelling fanbase. Play them (or WVU) at PBS and you're liable to have it turn into a neutral site game. Maybe I'm naive or missing something but I want my conference games (especially against the big opponents like UL and WVU) in Nippert with the best home field advantage in the conference.

If UC moves the WVU game to PBS for TV, UC can forget about the home field advantage. Mountaineer fans will outnumber you...

I wouldn't advise that. You wouldn't want all those Mountaineer fans spending their money across the river now. Would you? 03-nutkick

Cool beans. That should definitely help your attendance average next year. The only downside is that 2 home games aren't any longer...

More like 90 minutes from Louisville to just across the river at PBS.

Wonder if the PBS rent was negotiated lower with the possibility of an NFL lockout. Stadium needs events, could sit dormant if the NFL & NFLPA don't come to an agreement.
