The dome could be a selling point. Most people have never seen anything like it...(no jokes please). The idea of playing indoors can capture the imagination. Having a controlled environment opens the door to all kinds of possibilities. You don't have to make rain contingencies.

The point is the ASU video can cause salivation...thinking what football could be at ETSU. It was never executed properly. Game day at ETSU could easily been like ASU is now. The most creative I ever recall game day is when Pepper the Parrot was hatched out of an egg or whatever it was....it was an attempt but it was weak.

Imitation can be the sincerest compliment. ETSU research the list all the game day activities that work...use the ones that match. Watch attendance boom.

If you compare the two schools...ETSU wins in a landslide when it comes to game day potential. Bucs are in a major metropolitan area...well served by Interstate highways. ASU is in the middle of nowhere....and yet look at their enrollment...17,222 total.

ETSU has potential coming out the ear when it comes to fraternity power. It's a Buc strength. It's been used in the past a tad...but never fully harnessed.

Why is ASU cleaning ETSU's plow? They not only do it by winning football national championships, beating Michigan, they used to beat the Bucs head in...the all time head to record isn't pretty...13 Buc wins...31 Buc losses and 1 tie. The Bucs have 'em in basketball 76 Buc wins...46 Buc losses.

Here is where the App Man smiles...total revenue-Appalachian wipes ETSU off the map. They have football, they have tradition, they have enthusiasm. Could be because they are not a commuter school like ETSU. President Stanton has been working on that. The building of dorms on campus helps abundantly.

Students at ETSU have little "Buc pride." If you examine athletic crowds... they have few students, little enthusiasm.

ETSU had enthusiasm for a flash, for a vapor of time. ETSU was on the verge of becoming a significant player....then Les Robinson left and it came crashing down. That said...Les never had football going the way it should and could. It's hard to be basketball coach and Athletic Director.

Why oh why is my Alma mater not seeking excellence when it comes to athletics? Who can unleash the potential of football at ETSU? Who wants to enjoy game day at ETSU like our brethren Mountaineers do 50 miles away? Become part of the answer...do not be satisfied with where the Bucs are at!

It's one thing for Appalachian to win the national NCAA subdivision 1AA championship...but what if Chattanooga does it? What will the Buc hierarchy think then? The Mocs are planning on it.

They would think "but we have soccer!".

The administration could care less and therein lies the biggest problem.
