Good work, Uconn
Congratulations. Hate losing to you guys but, you're good so it's inevitable that we lose some to you.

Better now than in a tournament.

Not sure why UofL/Cincy was on ESPN while this game was relegated to ESPN3. Georgetown/Uconn was the bigger game ...

both games should have been on preferably back to back, but apparently duke/va was a bigger priority to espn 03-banghead

Cincinnati and Louisville was the bigger game. Rankings doesn't necessarily make it bigger this game was a rivalry game that had NCAA tournament ramification for Cincinnati.

IMO, Georgetown/Uconn was a much bigger game, even a bigger rivalry game, maybe. I dont think you will find too many folks who think that Cincy/Louisville was the bigger game. There were 2 top 15 teams playing. But ESPN for some reason seems to think it would get better ratings, unless there was some other contractual reason that the game was played on ESPN3. Both games were bigger than Duke/Virginia, imo.

Duke is the ratings champ so it's never a surprise when ESPN puts them on over everybody. But as you note, UConn/Georgetown was a much bigger game in every way than Cincy/UofL.

Since there's no reason to think Cincy/UofL would draw higher ratings (Georgetown, Uconn, and Louisville are all blue-chip basketball names, Cincy isn't), it was probably a contractual thing.

Maybe there's a clause that provides for some kind of rough-balance as to how many times each Big East team gets to be on ESPN or ESPN2?

I assume this is the case, or to be honest I don't know why DePaul, USF, etc would ever be on ESPN/ESPN2. That sounds harsh, but just trying to be honest. My guess is everyone gets on at least once, maybe twice.

Yes, as much as i hate to admit it, it's hard to imagine USF (except say last year) ever being on ESPN for a Big East game unless there's some kind of "fairness" clause giving every team at least one spot ...

UConn has played two really good games in a row and is turning their season back around. The next one at the Ville is HUGE.

UConn is like Michigan St - even thought they often look unimpressive for swathes of the regular season, you can set your watch by them peaking as we close in on tournament time ...

UConn is doing far better than Michigan State. They're in much better shape for an NCAA tourney bid too...
