I actually had a guy ask me to turn it off last weekend when I was djing. He hated the Steelers and claims that artist is from Pittsburgh. Not sure about that.

Wiz is based out of Pittsburgh. The song is indeed a reference to the city of Pittsburgh and all their black and yellow teams (Steelers, Pirates, Penguins.)

Good to see someone had a clue

I still remember in Huggins' second year, I believe.

We were playing a big home game against ranked Southern Mississippi. ESPN was there doing the game (huge at the time). Louisville was still in the Metro and I think we were in the Great Midwest. We didn't even have Louisville on the schedule that year.

The game was tight, and the Bearcats had a small lead late in the game. The TV timeout arrives, the crowd is electric, and the band fires up:

Dunt... dunt... dunt... duh nuh
Dunt Dunt Dunt !

And the crowd yelled out in unison: Louisville Sucks!

I always wondered what the ESPN crew thought when that happened.

During my undergrad days that was a common occurrence. We sucked in both sports, but those of us that went to games sure had a good time. "Louisville Sucks" would echo throughout Riverfront Coliseum. Visiting fans must have been thinking, "Not only does their team suck, but these fans don't even know who they are playing."
