Looking iffy for Corliss
Earlier in the season, it had been discussed on here if Corliss would do as well as Sidney did, in his first season. Sidney had 4 Division I wins. Corliss has 2. 5 regular season games and a tournament game left for Corliss. Being a great player does not a great coach make.

To be fair, this is obviously Corliss' first year. Be interesting to see if he can lure a kid to UCA that UALR or ASU is trying to sign. Not sure if being an ex-NBA player is a big plus in recruiting or not. I'd think if it were, you'd see a lot more ex-NBA players coaching in the college ranks.

Very accurate observation. Not that a former NBA player can't be a decent college coach, it just isn't seen that often. The games are so different. Williamson may turn out to be a good deal for UCA at some point. Right now he's looking just like the train wreck that Moncreif was for us.

I'm sure it has an effect on some kids. The thing you have to remember is that they are just kids, and their memories are short. Things that were "just yesterday" to us old codgers may not even be in the memory of youngsters. Time gets by quickly. Corliss' NBA term was recently enough that they probably would remember him.

Oddly enough, those epic Russell/Chamberlain battles would mean nothing to kids today.

How old would today's HS senior have been when Fayetteville won the NCAA?

They would certainly still be in diapers.
