RE: WVU-Syracuse game
1971, sounds like around the time Austin Carr would have been playing?

Yep, it sure was. That guy could play.

Bit, my brother, his wife, his best friend and his best friend's wife all went to that game...all gone now.

I think that Saturday's game will be a good one. Nobody on the Irish side thinks it will be anything other than a very tough game.

When my brother was dying last October, I went back to PA to see him in ICU. We brought him home to die on his own terms.
While watching ND beat Boston College in football the night before he died, he showed me the ND/WVU basketball game program from 1971 in Morgantown. I hope his sons still have it.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your brother Terry. I lost my older brother back in 2006 at the age of 44. I know what it feels like. My belated condolences to you and your family.

Sorry to hear it, Terry. The old man was the official scorer at the press table for that game, and he's over a year gone now...

WVU's Greg Jones and ND's Austin Carr both had monster games that day too. But Carr came out on top... 03-banghead

I was at the game in 2000; the only time back in Morgantown to see a game since I was a kid in the 70s-80s. Was with few fans of the Irish on that trip. Seems like the punt returner had a good day for ND from what I recall. Going back again this coming season for the LSU game with some fans of the Tigers (the LSU version that is).

Sorry about your brother.
