And I remember that his Forrest City High coach said he was the best player of those three or four good ones he had that year, and they did have a very good high school team the year those guys were seniors. He just never panned out.

RE: Kelson update
I think what he said was that he had more potential than any of them. Marcus Britt was obviously the best on that team And Kelson obviously hasn't lived up to whatever potential he had.

That coach must be doing our scouting and recruiting for us.

While I'm sure that's true, you'd still think that a guy that was supposedly a D-1 talent, would be good enough to start in a D-2 program. Doesn't say much for our evaluation of talent.

RE: Kelson update
He wasn't a DI talent. I wish him the very best, but I'd say the HS coach sold us a bill of goods on that one.

Obviously true, but surely our coaches who recruited him, saw him play, and didn't just listen to his high school coach. Makes you wonder if they know D-1 talent when they see it.

Hate to throw salt on the wound but UAFS is NAIA. Big difference in D2 Gulf South and NAIA. John Brown, Lyon College and Central Baptist are NAIA as well.

That's even worse when a kid from a D-1 program transfers to a NAIA team and can't start.

UAFS plays in the Division II Heartland Conference. Kelson is the 4th leading scorer on the team. I thought he'd do a little better, but it appears he's doing fine. I bet he averages in double figures next season. His coach said he was the best of the 3 Division I recruits on his high school team. I guess they were all over-rated. Don't know what the 3rd player is doing. Marcus Britt is a marginal DI player, at best.

RE: Kelson update
Marcus Britt has played a lot of minutes in the SEC. Kelson obviously didn't even have the talent to play in the SBC. Granted, Arkansas isn't a very good SEC team, but nevertheless to say he's better than Britt is somewhat ludicrous. I hope he has a great year next year. But it's obvious that he was just another of our poor recruiting evaluations.

I don't think so. I believe they are D-2. Provisional at this point because they don't have enough female scholarships yet.

Just my opinion and the opinion of the guy who coached both of them.
