I posted this is a different thread, but I think it's a good area that is logical for NIU to recruit in, and I think they can be successful there. Outside of Mizzou, nobody has a heavy presence in that state. Illinois used to in St. Louis (not the rest of the state), but recently outside of the East St. Louis kids they really have moved away from there. That's really left the state wide open outside of Mizzou.
Kansas and Arkansas have always had real good holds on the state, but Wisconsin ALWAYS got a big recruit out of Missouri, and i think alot of that was because of Doeren

Was Mays recruited as a long snapper? His bio indicates he had a great all star game at linebacker.

I am contacting Dean Vohra about this now.
Dean Vohra got back to me and said he was involved with the recruiting process/campus visit. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
FYI - NIU and U of I undergraduate engineering students take the same exact test on the same day and must pass with the same minimum score to become an "engineer".

RE: 2011 Signee Roster
He might've wanted to go into a field of engineering not offered by NIU. NIU only has mechanical, electrical, and industrial.. U of I has a much wider selection.

RE: 2011 Signee Roster
When Womble was coming out of high school he was offered by Wisconsin and his recruiting contact there was the RB coach John Settle. Pretty strange that both Womble and Leighton Settle, John's son, end up at NIU 3 years later.

I would love to see a two-back backfield with Bell and Womble.
