He knows whoever the coach is won't be here for long if he's successful, so we can't start from scratch. We have a game in Soldier Field this year with a very good senior QB. We can't mess around.

If he is telling him what to do after hiring him, that could be a problem.

canada is not stupid, he saw the film and will tweak more then anything.

Couple of Random thoughts...

A change in philosophy to a more pass happy offense is unlikely. Like GCD said Canada aint no dummy. He led the run heavy Huskies in 2003 and he will adapt his play calling accordingly.

I truly believe we found Harnish to be at his best passing the football when he is on the move. Don't confine him to the pocket. Keep him moving with pass/rush options, rollouts etc.

Doeren is smart enough to know he shouldn't mess around with the system his first year. Especially considering how successful it was last year. We will see some different things being done, I'm sure. But nothing too different from what we have now.

I don't have a problem with Compher telling him that. I'm sure both of them are on the same page when it comes to this.

This team set a new single season record for points scored. It would be really dumb to change this offense.

They brought in a new coaching staff. Whether or not anyone likes it, the offense isn't going to be the same. You'll see close to last years offense this year, but the longer they are here the more it will change.

Well if my basic arithmetic skills are correct that equates to:

36% Pass
64% Run

Looking at those numbers, I could definitely see the new regime balancing those numbers out a touch.

I am all for a 40/60 to 50/50 ratio. I just hope that Canada remembers DeKalbs wind situation.

Not sure that ratio means much, we were dominating teams in quite a few games where we stopped passing. Is there a way to find our stats for the first half of games? I'd think that would be more telling.

If Compher is telling Doeren what kind of offense to run we have a problem

Jeff Compher is an offensive genius. Or - dare we say - a world-class offensive machine.

Those numbers are definitely thrown off by the fact that we were often up by 20+ points in the second half. I'm too lazy/uninterested in figuring out the first half numbers. Some of these comments regarding changing the offensive scheme being a horrible idea are just dumb. I'm sure coaches realize that they need to run an offense that utilizes the strengths of the players they have. They aren't going to run a pro style offense if they don't have an offense that they think can run it.
