Although I didn't have a big problem with PDoc's article, UC sure as hell isn't giving the 13K much of a reason to keep coming out. Not over yet, but 03-banghead

Will pDoc blame tonight's loss on the poor attendance?

He wasn't even at the game.

Huggs made a comment in his post game presser about Doc writing about poor attendance and then not showing up to the game.

Flea, he must have been hanging with Mick and the team cause they didn't show up either.

This was somewhat justified at the beginning of the season, as the program was coming off two consecutive late-season collapses, and A LOT of uncertainty coming into the season (backed up by fairly close wins vs. the C/D-list). So I gave benefit of the doubt, and left the subject alone in December.

But, now, it's been two months since the beginning of the season, and we still have only three losses. It was interesting hearing Mick on the post-game Wednesday. When asked about the sellout for Saturday, he wasn't impressed, replying that he wants people to see the UC BEARCATS, not WVU or Xavier.

I know Mick is a Cincinnati guy, but, if he gets us to the tournament, and a B-10, SEC or ACC program comes calling, I wonder if he'll listen. It's quite possible that he might throw up his hands if this lack of support continues as the team attempts to clinch a bid down the stretch. Seems unthinkable that he'd leave the city he loves, but I don't think the UC community should take it for granted.

everyone keeps badgering over UC fans getting over how Huggins left but let's face it. The main reason Cincinnati attendances isn't very good at the reds, bengals and bearcats is.......THE ECONOMY. Cincinnati got hit hard by the financial crunch 2 years ago and still suffering from it. People don't spend their money so much on sports venues and there are more imprortant things to use money on for them. pdoc still knows nothing about what he writes about. He doesn't work hard enough to find out.

I've never read that Cincinnati's economy got hit harder than any other economy in the nation.

Seems other programs can draw better with the same economic issues. I think it is just another example of how poor the fans are in this region. All they do is cheer for winners. We are 18-3 people. Time to cheer for the winner.

Exactly.

I think it's the dour Cincinnati attitude.

Look what happened with football...people wouldn't go because they sucked. Then they started to win...people wouldn't go because of Zimpher. Then they came within a field goal of the national championship game...people wouldn't go because the coach changed.

People here are angry, negative and cheap. If they aren't whining they aren't happy. Such downers.

People in greater Cincy are not any different than people in Indy, Nashville,
or Charlotte. You are painting with very large brush. Nippert had had good attendance last year, not great, not sellouts, but pretty good. It is much more about winning, than a dour attitude.
