They called this a foul on Nate Rucker. Honestly might be the worst foul call in the history of basketball. Enjoy.

OMG.....watched it 5 times & still can't figure out any way that is a Rucker foul, or even what the ref is calling. That's a shame

Guys Guys Guy!!! Imagine our house sitting here watching that. The CMU commentators was trying to pick the CMU player to put the foul on. As the guy said he was hammered, then the other player came and finished him off. By the way they called a blocking foul on a missed dunk. Its funny now but that night it was nothing close. Can you think about what Bobby Knight would have done. LOL. He is trying to learn to stay out of foul trouble and at the same time having to deal with a call like this. You do not have to be a NIU fan to see the home cooking on that one.

It's comical only because Rucker wasn't hurt. That is truly probably the worst call I've ever seen.

And we lost by how much...........? It's true that we need to make our own luck, but some things like this make it even harder to get over the hump!

Nice post! I remember seeing it during the game and wondering how everyone was so confused. Did that really just happen? Patton's face said it all.

I wasn't there and don't know what happened after this video ends but where in the world are the other refs? One of them should have stepped in and conferred with the ref who made the call, quickly convince him that he was out of his mind, and overrule the call. Hard to imagine all 3 refs letting such an obviously ridiculous call stand.

The only worse call I can imagine would be a blocking foul against someone sitting on the bench.

i remember a game, i think it was against Miami around 1985 and i think it was in Rockford where my vote for the worst call i have ever seen. On the last shot of the game, they called (i think it was on Tim Dillon) goaltending on a shot from the corner where the block was a15 to 20 feet from the basket. The call lost NIU the game

I thought the block was by Battle. I might be wrong there.

Call made by Bruce Lichliter (sp). He didn't officiate another NIU game for years.

Actually I see where Rucker fouled him. He went up for the dunk and his arm whacked the first guys hand and then when he came down he didn't have his feet set as the 2nd guy barrelled over him.

The only thing I can think of was that they're calling Rucker for tripping the help defender, but... he tripped the guy because he got mugged.

The only thing I've been able to come up with is that the ref got a complete brain cramp and forgot which team had the ball. He motions a blocking foul on Rucker when he's on the ground, which makes absolutely no sense and is actually an impossible foul for Rucker to commit when he is the guy with the ball.

Patton was so dumbfounded I don't think he could even figure out what to argue and how to argue it. It's a completely nonsensical call.

Wow, I guess getting hacked and then trying to regain you balance and getting run over is a foul!!!!!??????
