Home Game vs. UNF
Big game tonight vs. the Ospreys. Could bring our winning streak to 3, conference record to .500, and we could continue to build on some of the confidence we acquired on the road last week.

UNF has beaten some good teams this year, and played some other good teams pretty close. They beat Wyoming, and we did not, so this is going to be a tough test. It will take a great effort to win tonight. I hope our guys are ready to play.

RE: Home Game vs. UNF
Didn't make it to the UNF game, but I was at the JU game last night. I have been trying to give Ingle the benefit of the doubt, holding out hope that he can turn something around. Last night was one of the worst game's I've ever seen. The score at halftime was 44-17. I genuinely felt like JU sent us a big "F-U...this is how basketball is supposed to be played". They have some nasty players. They were slamming it home with more authority than I have ever seen a team do in the A-Sun (as a whole). They move the basketball so fast. They crash the boards and get putbacks. I don't know the numbers but it seemed like we were just thrown around like a rag doll on the boards. Their full court press was some of the most effective I've seen all season. It forced us to make more unnecessary turnovers than I think I've seen, at least this season. All in all, it was just an entire beatdown of a game. They were on cruise control the whole second half and we still lost by 28. I can honestly say not one of our players had a good game.

Anyways, I started out this post about Ingle, and I'll wrap it up about him. I tried to let it slide, despite some things that were being said. I tried to give him his due after all he's been through with the transition and all that. He's a great guy and all. But I am joining the bandwagon if you will, he has to go.

I say give him one more year after this. I'd like to see him have a full year with full scholarships and a team that stays together throughout the season. He's had to deal with loss of scholarships from the NCAA for the reclassification period and then this year with Kurtis and Heramb being assclowns. Its tough. Not a full excuse for why the team is doing bad, but lack of scholarship players hurts big time.

RE: Home Game vs. UNF
I too thought that Ingle should be given the benefit of the doubt, however this season has been a poor performance. I believe that if we are going to get rid Ingle, now is the time to do it. He has athletes and talent that is far better then what we had last season. Calvin has stepped up to basically take over Woods position. Yes we could use one more guard and Heramb underachieving on and off the court has heart the team. However we picked up Anderson who is a rebounding, and second chance machine. Another issue I have is that Markeith has not improved. He is still putting up the numbers, but he takes too many shots and drives that end in turnovers or poor chance. Part of this is because his teammates aren't putting in the effort to get open but some of it is because even when someone is open he would rather drive into the double and triple team. Either way you look at this problem it all comes down to coaching. Markeith has not improved and the team shows no motivation to move and get open (Either this or they dont know where to move so they just stand). I hate to say throw a coach out to the curb that has done well for the program, but if you are going to do it do it now before the new AD has to do it and look like the bad guy. Let the AD come in and gain the coaches respect (he can't be known for being the terminator by firing a coach first year in), while still being able to replace our basketball coach and take the program in the right direction. If we dont do it now we are going to have to wait out the storm a few more years or till Ingle decides to retire.

As painful as it is to say, it really looks like it's time to move on. The movie made about Coach Ingle's life, based on his book, will still tell a great story of a man who grew up poor and turned sheer ambition into basketball success as a player, a D-II coach, and eventually a D-I coach. However, it looks like the closing scene will be the upset of Georgia Tech in a packed house.

Any signs of life at this point might postpone his departure, but I really don't see a KSU basketball future five years from now with Coach Ingle still at the helm. I've seen this film before: The KSU team gets worse as the season progresses, and it becomes less disciplined, less "sharp".

This I know: if winning basketball games was about sheer will, Coach Ingle would probably win them all. Unfortunately, it's not.

You forget that that we upset the #1 seed last year, and were a few plays away from the finals in our game vs. ETSU. I for one am not giving up on the coach or the team. This happens to new D1 teams...you look at the history of the programs. We are no different. We need to stay positive and not allow ourselves to fall into this 'woe is me' category.

Even the worst collegiate programs have legendary upsets - and that's all they have. An indication of success is not managing an upset now and again, but actually being upset (meaning that there were some expectations YOU are the team to beat). Hey, if this team can muster a mediocre 6-5 or 7-4 record over its remaining 11 games and become a mid-seed in the A-Sun tourney, that's a good step.

This is just a game, so I feel no "woe". It's always good to support the team, win or lose. However, a positive attitude from me doesn't help the players get into position, or become students of the game, or spend an extra five minutes shooting or lift that final set of weights. There are four guys who get paid to do all of those things I can't.

In the end, I'm a fan of the program, not a particular coach. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out ... maybe the baby blues kick them into a 11-game winning streak, and they finish 16-14 (14-6 in conference) and are a high seed in the A-Sun tourney. Maybe they make the tourney as a lowly 8-seed and pull some upsets to make it to their first big dance. And perhaps once they make it there, they become the first 16-seed to knock off a 1-seed in NCAA history. We could only hope...

Good points ksuowlsfan. You are pretty level headed fan. I can feel those comments, and agree with most of them. Consistency is the key to success in any industry. After winning 2 of 3 on the road we had a chance to really get back in the race with these homes games and we let them slip by. We have an uphill road to travel for a bit now ...

And Finally we are on the same page. I've been making those points for four years now.
