RE: Detroit News top 60 blue chip players
It's funny how CMU tends to get great QB's, NIU tends to get great RB's, we seem to get some great WR's.

Well, we only got 3 off that list, but I'm glad to see us really scouring other areas for players, not just OH and MI. We seem to have made some good inroads into FL. I know some aren't crazy about JUCO's and transfers, but our program needs an immediate boost and if that's what it takes, let's do it. Look at what just a few of them did for our defense this past season--like night and day...er night and dawn maybe.

It will be nice to see some of the transfers, like Scott, make an impact. I remember back in the 'Stutz era he would bring in some highly touted transfers but a lot times they either never saw the field or didn't amount to much when they did.

It's going to be a very intersting Spring, that's for sure.

(correct me if I'm wrong)
Toledo is still in on a couple of the undecided players on the list.

On D who were the JUCO and transfers who really contributed?
Paige? Rancifer?

I watched CMU's QB in the state championship game. He's going to be a real stud.

Paige? Rancifer?

CB Taikwon Paige (JUCO)
LB/S Bobo Rancifer (JUCO)
DT Johnie Roberts (JUCO recruited the previous year and redshirted in 2009, so this year was his first year on the field for us as a junior)
SS Diauntae Morrow (Transfer)

Roberts was huge for us on the defensive line this year, and Morrow and Paige did very well. Rancifer provided some nice depth. We actually had some depth on defense this year, and Rancifer and Morrow were two guys that provided some of that depth.
