The 9 points by NIU in the first half were all by one player. Very ugly game indeed.

All the same, great job Rocket defense. Sure, Northern's offense was bad, but we helped make them look that bad. Our inside play was absent on offense today. The only offensive spark was Shafir, but then she got in foul trouble and was not much of a factor in the second half. Great job by Lecretia Smith to knock down three mid-range jumpers. She also drove to the hoop once for a score and second for a dish out leading to a basket. Smith is also a great defensive player. Her game has improved quite a bit since last year.

Shooting has been our achilles heel all season. I hope this was our worst game. Still can't fathom how #33 for us can be that terrible on the offensive end. Inexcusable... I don't see how she finds minutes next year if it continues. I hope she spends a lot of time in the gym over the offseason.

I would like to see defensive rebounding improve. Too many times NIU had 5 offensive rebounds before we got the ball on one play. I excited for the EMU game Saturday at noon in Ypsi.

As 42 indicates the UT-EMU game start time on Saturday is now 12:00 noon (previously 2:30).

And that 12 noon start is a SportsTimeOhio telecast.
