What about that guy named Barksdale? He wasn't bad. When you look at the rest of those guys now, you may wonder how he only won four games, but you know why he didn't win 10-15 games.

So, other than Barky, Laverne, and Stan, who was going to win many games with that bunch of players? Most of those guys,
I didn't even remember, and I used to consider myself a pretty good fan. Now Mark Green was pretty good, but he was a freshman that year.
So, Sidney didn't have a whole hell lot of talent. In other words, the cupboard was pretty bare. Wimp had left the building. I suspect Wimp would have won a few more game just on his coaching ability, but not many more. If Wimp could have played .500 ball with that bunch, he would have been National Coach of the Year.
Then Sidney brought in some pretty good talent for Porter, then he left Dodge and never got to use it.
