Way to go Dolphins!
Jacksonville downs DLU in Nashville setting up a huge game, I think the game of the first half, Monday at Belmont. The winner puts themselves in the driver's seat with a lot of road to go.

For the many Slater haters, he was pretty dominant, but forced a crazy three at the end with the sole intention of trying to get fouled (they were down 3). He wasn't fouled and most refs won't call it when it is as obvious as that. He ended up shooting a line drive that was not even remotely close. Fun to watch. The DLU announcers were calling him The General. Tools.

RE: Way to go Dolphins!
I was at the game yesterday. It's the first time I've seen Lipscomb in person since the Mercer game last year.

Jacksonville took Hodzic apart. It was nearly impossible for him to get open in the post. And when he did, they would double- and triple-down on him, leaving plenty of open shooters, but Adnan just couldn't find them. But then again, passing out of the post has always been his Achilles heel. That and defense.

Jordan Burgeson needs to grow his hair back out. Since last year, he's lost eight inches off his hair and eight points off his 3-point percentage.

Except for Slater, the whole rest of the team looked sluggish and uninspired. They defended pretty well in the second half, but when they played defense they couldn't score, and when the offense was working Jacksonville had their way on the other end.

It was really interesting to watch Sanderson coach this game. Most of the time he looked like he was just at a loss. He's done everything he knows to do, and nothing is working. At least he got to take home a couple of souvenir time-outs.

Slater was the only reason Lipscomb didn't lose by 20 yesterday. But as good as he was in clawing Lipscomb back in to the game, at the end he choked. No two ways about it -- he had the ball in his hands with the game tied and less than a minute to go, and he strong-armed a 16-footer with no teammates anywhere near rebounding position. Just a bad decision. Then, down 2 (not 3, sorry) with 5 seconds left, he puts up this shot-no-pass-no-really-shot-uh-oh thing that ends up in Jacksonville's hands. Ball game.

The officiating was solid. Two interesting no-calls -- Slater not getting T-ed for a taunting situation that nearly led to a fight. And Sanderson only getting a bench warning when he started running after a ref but slipped and fell on the coaching box line.

And for those still counting: in games where both teams lead or are tied in the last four minutes, since the Indiana win in 2008, Lipscomb is 3-12. Since 2003, they win right at 1 out of 4. Bad luck eventually levels out. Maybe Don Meyer used up all of our karma.

Thanks Dad, nice write-up. Listening to the game it sounded as if Slater was a one-man band in the 2nd half. Burgason getting shut-out is amazing.

Yes. Way to go Dolphins. A 31 point loss is a respectable way to leave your Nashville trip.
