Anyone ready for a new coach now?
If for no other reason, the attendance tonight was pitiful. It's going to be interesting to see what they report in the box score. Eight years and we still don't run an offense.
Three points to pass on, the first two are funny but sad. The last one not funny.
There was a young couple sitting in front of me tonight, and midway into the second half he told his wife, "I've seen all this **** I want to see." They hit the road.
Then with about four or five minutes left in the game, my wife said to look at the two gentlemen sitting two seats down from me. They were both asleep. I'll grant you that they were both probably in their 70's, but damn, if we played an exciting brand of basketball, I doubt that they'd be asleep. I never saw anyone sleeping when Newell was here.
Now the sad part. I was talking to a long time fan tonight at the half. He told me he has been a season ticket holder for 27 years, and that he will not buy tickets next year.

RE: Anyone ready for a new coach now?
It looked dead in there. Must be tough hosting anything on a Wednesday night in the Sun Bible Belt! Nothing but us beer-swilling Catholics and heathens there! (I was not in attendance, fyi. I cannot usually make weekday games anyway.) Also students are not back yet. We actually have a few living on campus now who can just walk on over. That's taking some getting used to. We have great facilities and a sizable potential fan base that will come out to support a winner. We have all the sizzle but no steak! [plug] We even have a local ale on tap to wash it down with that has won more world championships than the Trojans have won SBC titles in the same time frame--Diamond Bear. [/plug]
I saw all the shite I could stand about 10 minutes into the 2nd half via the crappy trojan tracker feed. It's time to upgrade that thing to high def NTSC standard def. The blocky realplayer-style picture is so much reminding me of 2001.

RE: Anyone ready for a new coach now?
What I thought I saw in this game. Players not running an offense. Players doing their own thing. Players who seemed to not care very much. A college basketball team without leadership either on the floor or from the bench. Observing the St. Bonnie players who are real basketball players. Chuckie Guy is a basketball player, and that's it. It seems to boil down to recruiting. I don't know if another coach can do any better but, IMO, someone sure as hell should be given a chance.

Not yet. It usually takes 9 years to get a system to run the coach's players.
