Possible Bowl Opportunity
Just curious. If the Liberty Bowl Committee approached your conference commissioner about a possible bowl tie-in, what place team wonder would your commissioner likely offer them?

The SEC seems bent on offering them the last scraps despite the bowl game offering a higher payout than some of the bowls the are placing in front of them. I think that the estimated payout out this year is $1.7 million per team.

RE: Possible Bowl Opportunity
For that kind of payout IMO they ( SEC ) should be offering teams ranked in 5-7 rankings, but the BCS as well as the other bigger established bowls ( Cotton, Gator, Peach, etc ) get dibs due to conference affiliation. The Liberty Bowl is just as grand as the rest of them, but it's the conference affiliation that needs to be scraped as well as the BCS. This is why the BCS was able to come alive IMO for the NCAA does not care about the bowls, and the bigger bowls do not want to lose out to the bigger known schools of the SEC, Big 10, Pac 10 and so on. Lose the conference affiliation and you will see bigger teams approaching Liberty officials like there was no tomorrow I assure you, but it should be garnering at least IMO teams ranked 5-7 of all conferences.
