RE: Kent State vs. Akron
It seems that I am the one guilty of reigniting the JUCO/transfer vs. freshman argument! I just looked at the roster. If one counts Bradley (scholarship pending qualification) in place of the departed Grimsley, Kent State actually has 8 roster spots taken by players who came as true freshman. Since I prefer 8 to 9, that is what they are doing. But my opinion still stands that I would prefer that the true freshman get somewhat more playing time. There is no better way to develop than to actually play.

I believe GF has done a much better job bringing in 4-year players. considering the loss of 6 srs. from last years team and the 2 , now 3 that have transferred we should have expected some struggles with all the new players. I prefer 4 yr players and supplement with a JUCO or 2. in the past we probably relied to much on incoming transfers and JUCO players, but no recruiting system is perfect.
