Did we ever get an official reason for cancelling the
South Dokota State girls game tomorrow night? I can't remember seeing it in the paper, but I do remember seeing where someone posted that it had been cancelled. I'm sure they've are going to pass out refunds for that game being cancelled.

It really is rather bizarre. Could the Sugar Bowl really be the reason? The Ladies flew back from Denver this morning at 6 am (I would think they could have come back last night if they wanted to). No way they should be asked to play a game tonight. But why not tomorrow night? There are no classes. They could sleep most of the day today, sleep late tomorrow and then have a light workout before the game. Probably not the "ideal" situation, but there's no way we would have cancelled a men's game given the same scenario. The men always play Thursday-Saturday (one day of rest) and they play Thurday night not in the afternoon like the ladies did.

Yes, it smells like pork. Someone(Foley I supose)scheduled the game, knowing full well that we played in Denver on Saturday. What a damn lame excuse. I thought I smelled a rat, but it was a pig.

I'm not sure what to think. If we started the game at 5pm, anyone who wanted to could have been home in time to see the kickoff of the Sugar Bowl. I bet we would have had no less than 80-90% if our normal lady's crowd. Doesn't seem like a reason to cancel a game. Maybe it was seen as less embarrassing to "quietly" cancel the game then to announce it was being moved to 5pm to avoid a conflict with the pigs.

Do you really think Coach Long called Coach Petterson and demanded the women's hoops game be cancelled..?

I would imagine UAF had nothing to do with it. They probably felt they would spend more money putting on the game than they would make on it, given the predictably sparse crowd due to the Sugar Bowl. Simple economics.
