And that is a good thing.
The only time the MWC got 4 of their teams in the Top 60 (actually it was Top 50) was last year and all 4 went to the NCAAs.
I do agree that the current RPI can be "rigged", but you still need to beat those midling teams and also you have to win road games to really "play" it.

I think he might mean one year with the Missouri Valley with Wichita State, Bradley, etc... EDIT-- in 2006
Yeah, he might have been referring to that conference and that year. MVC got 6 teams in the Top 40 of the RPI, but only sent 4 teams. That was the year of the mid-major. 2 of the 4 got to the Sweet 16, with the other two losing first round match-ups against BE teams - N. Iowa losing to the Hoyas and S. Illinois losing to West Virginia.
Cheers,
Neil

Yup...the Cuse got screwed out of a bid due the MVC riggin their RPIs...as I remember they all flamed out early too.
No and No.
Cuse made the tourney in 2006 thanks to GMAC's run at MSG.
The MVC got 4 bids out of a possible 6 with 2 getting to the Sweet 16. BE had 4 of 8 get to the Sweet 16. Seton Hall, Syracuse, and Marquette all lost their 1st round games that year.
Cheers,
Neil
