I would say do it IF the Bc$ conferences don't. If there is a lock-out I think it would be a good idea to put Bc$ conferences on 1 day, non-Bc$ on the other.

I really dont think that there will be a lockout so it won't be a problem...
They all get plenty enough $ to survive.

But if it did come up... I bet they would have a Sunday night game, like a featured game of the week. The MAC would probably have a few sunday games for TV slots. Its a heck of a lot better than Tuesday night games.

The only way to get the AQ teams to play on Saturdays and non AQ on sundays would be if they locked out for a few years and the NCAA found that idea interesting and tried it.. But certainly not on last month notice from the NFL about having a lockout. Schedules are set too far in advance.

Both sides are driven by greed and ego and could not care less about the fans (except as a revenue stream). Unless both sides come to their senses and realize that they can never recoup what a lockout/strike will cost each side in lost revenue, I would not be that surprised to have the season compromised next year. ML Baseball had no qualms about ruining the 1994 season and unfortunately, most of the fans flocked back like sheep once the owners and players decided to resume play.

Agreed ----week night games are terrible.

All it would take to get the non-AQ (and a number of AQ) teams to play on Sunday is for the TV folks to tell them that if they want TV exposure (the coin of the realm) that is when they will play---there might be a very few refusals, but not many.

Tell me about it; 1994 was a golden year for my Expos. Had the strike not happened we'd be playing MLB in a new stadium in downtown Montreal in 2011.

It probably won't be up to the MAC, it will be up to ESPN.

If ESPN says do it, then the MAC will do it, and we will take our marching orders.

Dumb question I know, but what is AQ and acronym for?

Automatic Qualifiers - synonymous with the BCS schools

I should qualify my answer on AQ - it is for NCAA football. AQ's are different in different sports - came to mind as I was thinking about how the NCAA determines AQ's for the wrestling championships. Also different in basketball as it relates to conference winners, tournament winners, etc.

BTW - anyone else having extremely slow speeds today on the internet??
